Mark Carney makes final pitch to voters: ‘Is Pierre Poilievre the person you want sitting across the table from Donald Trump?’

Reply in thread

I agree that the Liberals should absolutely be put in the penalty box, as any government should after being in office for 10 years.

And still the alternative is far worse. A rudderless, directionless group with no actual policy and no interest in accountability or transparency. Worse, with instincts that mimic the existential threat to Canada's sovereignty.

Carney is a guy that seems singularly equipped for this moment. We'd be fools not to take advantage of that.

Trans student’s arrest for violating Florida bathroom law is thought to be a first

Trans activists are going about this all wrong. Instead of sending someone like Marcy in to violate the law, they need to do this:

Send in the biggest, burliest, hairiest ftm trans dudes into busy ladies rooms, the room that the state insists he must now legally use. And record the reaction of the women and girls leaving for broadcast media. Because by focussing on mtf trans in ladies rooms, I really feel the dipshits that make these laws haven't thought their cunning plans through very fully.

Today, the Mexican Government introduced its new chocolate bar, priced at less than $1USD. Made of 50% cocoa, powdered milk, vanilla. No refined sugar, no artificial flavourings.

I would presume it's because they're low in sugar. Due to exploding diabetes rates, Mexico has been making a concerted effort in the last few years to stem the consumption of sugary foods, drinks and snacks, particularly amongst kids. You can't have a cartoon mascot on a box of cereal, for example. They put big stickers over Tony the Tiger before changing the packaging completely. And the cost of snack foods has skyrocketed, making it largely unaffordable for lots of Mexican families. A bag of chips there costs more than it does in North America.

My guess is that this is part of that effort.

I didn't see through to the end because Rossman was making the same point over and over and over and over. But what he didn't talk about is that Netflix specifically does not provide the highest tier of quality to PCs. That's to prevent piracy of super high quality streams. The blockage is very much intentional and not without cause. Similarly, Netflix often does not play well with a whole host of Android streaming devices over which they have no control of the stream for exactly the same reason.

I agree with him otherwise, I just wish he'd have gone into those reasons. Your super fast gaming rig being 'not compatible' has nothing to do with its impressive hardware specs.
