I made the switch to Kagi January last year.

I know it's all just personal experience and everyone can have their own needs, but I was skeptical at first as well.

Almost a year and a half later I've got no complaints.

My searches feel like how Google felt years ago: mainly I never think about it. I search, find what I want and I'm off. It just works as I'd expect without the nonsense ads and AI Google has now.

Worth a free trial. See how it works for you.

The Pebble Has Been Brought Back

Reply in thread

Having used both, personally I highly preferred the Pebble over the Bangle JS.

Pebble was solid software, good designs and it all just worked simply and did what I needed. I also thought the Pebble Time Round was near perfect in design and execution. I'm not a fan of the geeky look of the normal pebble and bangle watches (or the apple watch look).

The Bangle was fun to dev for, and I love that it exists, but it all felt like a dev project. Not a finished product. Granted it was early on in the project so I'm sure it's in a better place now.

They both have similar capabilities. I say go with whichever you think is going to fit what you need a smartwatch to do.

Should I switch to Qobuz or Tidal for music streaming?

I've been testing out Qobuz recently since I'm in a similar ditching-Spotify place in my life. Honestly I think it's a great alternative. Sound quality is great and it has the multi device sync/status like Spotify.

I don't know what that feature is actually called but the feature where you can have a song playing in the app on your phone, open the app on a different device like your tablet, and it will show the "now playing" in the minimized player along with the name of your phone that it's playing (and you can swap it to play immediately on the tablet now instead). That feature in Spotify was a big one for me. Love that Qobuz has it.

I'm still building my listening history so I can't comment on how good the recommendations will be. But the suggestions I've gotten in the last few weeks were spot on.

Not sure what people are talking about with the app ui. It's a good app. Maybe it was bad in the past and they have made improvements? But coming from Spotify I think you'd have no issues using it.

Give the free trial a shot.

For those who write...

Thanks for making this community. Just like you, I still have been checking reddit for supernote stuff (via redlib) and wanted something in lemmy instead.

I was about to make one mysf but found this one via a search.

I'll try and be active here and maybe we'll get other supernote users over here soon.

[Boox] Old woman smoking

Reply in thread

For sure. All of the tools on the Boox have size sliders.

I can get a post up of each tool and their sizes later today to show you what the differences are.

The Supernote also has sizes for each tool as well.

I don't own a kindle scribe so I can speak to how those tools work.

What's the state of Android browsers? Want to move away from Samsung Internet

Reply in thread

So it's just the forward/backwards buttons you want at the bottom?

That's so interesting. I can't say I ever use the forward button when browsing and for backwards I just use the back gesture (same as any other app).

But thanks for the screenshots. I didn't even know people use that sort of setup.

FF should offer it then, if that's something people use/expect as a norm.

Hello!

I already have a Supernote A6X that I use as my journal and sketchbook, but I wanted something larger for use at work to sketch out flow diagrams and have the larger canvas for reference docs.

I also wanted to see how Boox's options for pens and pencils worked for drawing. I've started doing some of those tests now, which I'll be posting about soon.

Having a more tablet-esque enote device at the larger 10" screen size seemed like a better fit for news reading, so the Boox was the option that fit best.

Do you not have any enote device right now?
