He's clearly an advanced scientific mind, he made the hypothesis people wouldn't fight for what they believe in, and was proven experimentally wrong. He should be grateful for the data point and update his beliefs accordingly. Though in good scientific practice I'm sure he'll replicate the experiment.

While you are probably correct that criticism of the USA (and of its citizens) pops up too often in unrelated topics, I think that you are basically just discovering what it is to not be the ultra dominant demographics on a platform. It doesn't mean it's right or anything, everyone should strive to make Lemmy a welcoming place, but it's certainly going to take work on both sides. He's consistently been the president of the wealthy, he could have chosen to make wealthy pensioners take some of the financial burden but decided to put it all on the working population.

He also deleted a wealth tax, consistently slashed benefits for unemployment and social minimums.

On a personal level, he's had too many dealings with quite a few people implicated in criminal scandals (Sarkozy, notably) to be clean.

All that to say, I can appreciate his talks about Europe, but he's not been a good president for the french workers, and it's likely to lead to the far right being in control in a couple years, which could be a disaster for said European project.

That's fair, but somehow I never seem to see hatred directed towards any other nationality on Lemmy, aside from Americans.
