But DrUgS at The Border!!

Because there are some drugs that make people aggressive, and I personally think these ought to be curtailed where possible. (Again, not a "war on drugs" style curtailment. But distribution, still illegal and criminal)

The first such drug that comes to my mind is alcohol. Its distribution was also criminalized in the past, eventually leading to an increase in organized crime.

Again: on one hand I have the stories of my actual relatives who lived under and lost people to both nazi and communist terror, on the other hand I have an internet stranger, who doesn't seem to be interested in anything that goes against their preconceived notions.

I suggest you spend your energy somewhere else, because your line of reasoning will be either insulting, or laughable to anyone in my position.

Thank you, Bolsheviks, for doing a bit less damage in our area, than what you proved to be perfectly willing to inflict on some of our neighbors.

Also, huge thanks to my ancestors for staying decent in some of the darkest decades of our history. You lived and died with moral integrity in times when you could have easily gotten a comfortable living by becoming corrupt bootlickers to some of the worst despots in human history.

octopus stinkhorn

I've tried a close relative, the stinkhorn (aptly named phallus impudicus). While in the egg phase, the slimy outer layer can be peeled off. Then you cut the inside into thin wedges, and fry them in oil. They taste like earthier french fries. The stuff in the post I've only ever encountered in the mature stage, so I never got to try this recipe with them. Since they are very similar in most aspects, I'd guess the technique should work.
