I guess I like the idea of having tech in my vehicle, but it doesn't work right. I've found so many flaws in the software that can't be remedied. It's not designed with user control/customization as the main priority. Furthermore, it's tied to main functionality of the vehicle which is restrictive in what it allows you to do upgrade wise.

As an audio enthusiast, it sucks that I can't upgrade my stereo/audio system.

What would be ideal in my world is open, user focused technology, upgradeable and repairable, and not this proprietary bullshit that we currently have. This is not intelligent design.

Also, while I'm thinking about it, it's bullshit that we are forced into these operating systems. Uconnect is garbage. Just give me stock android, with the ability to do what I want to with the hardware in the way that I see fit. The responsibility, freedom, and trust of the consumer has been predetermined. I don't like that.

To expound on that a bit, I think people are losing their ability to source things independently.

I can not understand how someone in their right mind would be looking at any content firehose without filtering, but it seems like that this is the reality for many.

I typically browse subscribed until I'm seeing posts I've already viewed. I occasionally switch to all to see if I will find any new content/ communities to subscribe to. How do you typically do it?

It would be cool to see a video breakdown of how this design is supposed to work. How anyone could hit anything like that seems impossible. Lol

I'm never on here during work. Even if I was, that point is pretty unhelpful. I think it's a normal thing for people to want an unlimited supply of content, as that's what we've gotten used to and that's what these websites are for. What's it to you, to dictate how I want to use my time? Whether this behavior is a good or bad thing is another argument. I think the limited content supply here is a concession that most people have accepted on Lemmy, but I also think that it's possible that it wouldn't have to be a concession as the platforms grow and get better.

Seat AND lid go down, always, no exceptions. Other than having a fundamental redesign of the entire structure, this is the only correct solution.

Seems like a really cool concept. Something I'd be curious about is if there are ways to encourage people to support the authors as well.

Another beautifully designed app. Not perfect, but just really nice to look at because of how well it was done. I still use myradar as my main driver, admittedly.

Again, one of the most beautifully designed apps I've ever seen. It has a few bugs, but I really enjoy using this one. It uses YouTube music as the back end.

Either of these work pretty good as a better way to watch YouTube videos. I'm glad people are fighting back against Google's bullshit...

This is currently my favorite Lemmy front end. I've tried many so far and this one seems to have the best functionality and customization too.

I don't quite understand everything that's going on here, but I have a feeling it's probably going to be beautiful when you're done. Hope to see some pictures of it when you get it installed too
