This community isn't your personal adviser

Please don't expect the community to give you answers to your questions which you then delete right afterwards. Those of us who put time into answering your questions are not doing so just to serve your personal needs, we are here to help build a community knowledge base that others can search and reference.

This has become a chronic issue with Lemmy and its starting to feel like it's a waste of time to answer questions.

YSK: I am a new moderator here.

Many of the existing mods have become inactive and the Lemmy.world community team asked me to step in as an active member.

You should know because I need you to report rule violations. I've done my best to clean up the backlog and will be keeping an eye out.

I've never really sought out being a mod before, other than trying to start a more niche community or two. I'd appreciate a little grace while I try to navigate how to best provide this service to the community.

Thoughts on Kanar

Whenever we see Kanar portrayed in the show it's always a thick viscous liquid for something most humans would consider a drink. But it occurred to me that the vast majority of the times we see it, it's not in the normal Cardassian environment. Cardassians like it much warmer than Humans and Bajorans. Would Kanar be less viscous on Cardasia than we see it on DS9? Even most instances when we see it on Cardassia, the founder is very sick and demanding the temperature be turned down in the facility.

(LIKELY AI) Never Argue With Someone John Brown Would Have Shot

LIKELY AI.

Below is the response from the store owner when asked if they would be pledging to not use AI.

Listen, I've seen your messages and many like them.

  1. We have almost 50 years experience in illustrator and graphic design, we are not >concerned with AI.
  2. No internet stranger, especially one who has not purchased from us, gets to dictate what >pledges we make or what tools we use.

Get serious.

We've got work to get back to.

The Fear Taking Hold Among Indiana Republicans

When the lawmaker later called the number affiliated with the order, it went to the state police in Indianapolis. Hoax pizza deliveries have been a favored tactic of MAGA supporters who have tried to enforce loyalty to Trump and his agenda...“The whole idea is, We know who you are. We know where you live,” the Indiana lawmaker said. “They’re trying to intimidate us.”

How to create a hand-held EMP

You should know that there are a large number of tutorials online for ways to make a handheld EMP (electromagnetic pulse). They will disrupt electronic devices in your vicinity and would be very useful if masked men approach you and try to photograph you with a potentially illegal biometric collection application. If made correctly they are harmless to people, and if made incorrectly they are most likely harmful to the operator. It is a non-violent defense device.
