Nah dude, I love the taste of meat but I am 99% vegetarian since 2012 or so and we absolutely don't "crave" meat. That's a learned habit. Find enjoyable vegetarian meals and you will eat less and less meat.

Defining the suffering of animals in a way that suits my objectives is not food for thought. Don't get me wrong, eating animals (and humans as mammals are legitimate food for other animals, too) is natural, it's how this planet works.

But that doesn't justify factory farming in the way it causes inconceivable amounts of suffering, and since mankind has advanced enough to produce quite good alternatives, I consider myself lucky to be able to eat meat-like tasting things without animals having to suffer for it. Also, some oat milks are great tasting, arguably better than cow milk for some purposes (coffee). And I say that as someone who drank 1-2 litres of milk per day for a decade.

All I expect of humans is to make a conscious decision to only eat meat when they really feel like eating meat, and not just because "you have to eat something". That's what I have been doing for ~15 years and my meat consumption has gone to almost none by now, where I will occasionally enjoy a steak anyways.

As someone who knows a good portion of the Fairphone staff in person, and knows they have a great atmosphere and are mostly great people: Fuck you @Fairphone for leaving my perfectly working FP1 dead in the water without SW updates, and removing the spare parts for the FP2 from the store around the time my FP2 needed them (USB charging port, battery), and for making every new fairphone larger, not offering a SINGLE phone in a proper pocket size (like the FP1).

For users who can live with the tablet-size of modern smartphones: Yes, repairability and longterm support for more recent phones appears not too bad, certainly better than most competitors, but still - if you are someone like me, who treats a phone well, you can not expect to be able to find spare parts by the time wear & tear from normal use will make it necessary.
