I think the point being made was that the enzyme used to break down cellulose is only made by bacteria, whereas the enzymes used to break down carbs, fats, and proteins are produced by the pancreas. Digestion is complicated though, teeth and stomach acid are also digesting in a way so it's all an oversimplification

Ok so I watched the whole video and he never said that in the video. They, the adl, monitor Internet traffic for things that could be potentially dangerous for Israel and then forward that to law enforcement. There certainly is overlap there but the headline totally misconstrues what is being said in the video. I am by no means a fan of Israel or the United States but there are plenty of real actual things to be upset about. No need to muddy the waters with statements like this. At least the posted video is not sufficient evidence to back up the stated claim

Just a heads up: this is an opinion piece, not a peer reviewed article. The obvious confounder in the argument --that kids that are likely to pick up vaping also have a propensity to engage in other harmful activities-- does not require a causal relationship to vaping, and is not discussed on the freely available portion of the piece. It's just a very basic description of a problem that's been described many times before. Not sure what the point is. Maybe there's an elegant solution at the end that's paywalled.

So I realize this is a shitpost but I've noticed that too and couldn't help but wonder why that is. My guess is that it's because bubble wrap is made to absorb and smooth out peak forces when things are bumped around. By letting the air out slowly the bubble wrap now more effectively does it's job even when it structurally fails.

I haven't had a great experience with my fairphone 4. app/phone crashes, ghost touching, now they announced that they're skipping support for Android 14, technical support has also been rather unresponsive. to top it off, they are usually very late with their security patches and apparently their verified boot implementation is horrible, they use the aosp test keys (which are publicly available) to cryptographically sign their firmware, which completely negates the point of the thing. I guess that's on par with the software support in general...

so yeah, can't recommend the company as is unfortunately 😕

I've had problems with ghost touches on my fp4. customer service just doesn't respond. I also get weird app crashes. can't recommend the company like this. long term support was the whole point!!

So I admit that I am just a user and have basically no idea what goes on behind the scenes in development, but for me, shoehorning stuff into retro devices is kind of a defining feature of Linux. It runs on just about everything, full stop.
