alpha
It makes more sense when we assume it's software development terminology instead. Alpha means the software is immature and full of issues.
I am a release candidate male.

What are some things you can/should cheap out on?
Smartphones. Most people don't need to buy the latest and greatest iPhone every year.

Musk started out as just a dick then turned full fascist. I bet Jobs wouldn't be too far behind if he was alive.
The guy died from a treatable cancer because he listened to a health guru instead of doctors. I bet he would be an antivax idiot gulping down horse dewormer to prevent COVID-19 if was alive today.

Valve: don’t expect a faster Steam Deck ‘in the next couple of years’
We all know there won't be a Deck 3. So I hope they take their time on making the second one perfect.

Their hardware is also garbage. My MX Anywhere 3 lasted only two years. I had no brand Chinese mice that lasted longer.

This console generation seems skippable
The best thing about this gen so far is the rise of handheld PCs, like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. I mostly play on the Deck nowadays, while the PS5 gathers dust.

It's frankly amazing that these two emotions can be reconciled long enough for anyone to find love.
I once went on a date with a girl and when I got to the bar there were four of her friends at the table! They left once they made sure I wasn't a murderer.

A software company called Threads says Meta tried to buy its domain and kicked it off Facebook
Didn't they pull the same shit back when they changed the company name to Meta?

From my experience working for a management consulting firm. It's more like everyone knows what the problems are and how to fix them, but they are too scared of screwing up to do something about it.
So they hire a consultancy company to tell them what they already knew and take the blame if something goes wrong.

Has this ever happened to you?
I had a girl do that on our first date. She was feeling insecure because she never dated online before. Once she felt comfortable with me, her friends left.

What was "The Incident" at work that caused an exodus in the work force?
Happened when management started treating the IT department like crap and demanding we work overtime with no extra pay. Almost all the experienced developers left in the spam of a year.
Before I left, I told them they would never be able to assemble such a good team again. Four years later and they are still struggling to keep the department running, according to a friend that chose to stay. The few developers they are able to hire are either terrible or quit after a while.
I get the feeling the same will happen in my current job :/
