Reddit's API protest just got even more NSFW

I'm happy that they're keeping it up, but I've already moved on to the point that even if Reddit were to completely go back on the API change, I wouldn't come back. Personally I've already moved the goal post to where Steve Huffman needs to go before I'd consider ever going back. Reddit is dead for all I care.

These trolley problems are getting more complex

In that case, no, and you’re not responsible anymore. Those people working on switching out the trolley parts had every available opportunity to fully stop the trolley, more-so than you. You diverted it to save a life immediately, that crew maintaining this Trolley of Death are the real murderers.

Deeply Unhappy Gen Z and Millennials Cause U.S. to Drop in Global Happiness Ranking

Millennials killing yet one more thing I guess. Really though, you can't blame them, given the state of affairs, we should really be placing blame where it's due, on the people who are driving up house prices, rents, and general prices overall. A friend's rent just went up $150 this year (~10% increase), and it's the exact same shithole it's been for the past year. Meanwhile, annual raises are typically only 2-4% if you're lucky...

"Rich Elites Cause U.S. to Drop in Global Happiness Ranking" is a more apt title.

Twitter is now X as the little blue bird disappears

Brilliant move by Musk. 'X' has long been identified as the universal symbol for closing out of an application. Hopefully with this move even more people will permanently close out of Twitter and move on so I don't have to read so many dumb news stories where the lazy journalist uses a few random tweets as their "source" for the headline.

With Jan. 6 case, the Supreme Court could take America down the dark road to dictatorship

SCOTUS is so anti-democratic. Why the hell does the fate of our democracy rest on the whims of Nine people holding lifetime appointments? I get that they want these people outside of the transitory world of politics, but that doesn't really seem to have prevented politics from creeping into the Court anyways. If SCOTUS rules that POTUS has immunity while in office, then Biden should just suspend the election, declare martial law, arrest Trump, and lock up all the Russian sympathizers in Congress. Protecting the country from foreign agents seems like it should fall within the scope of the President's powers.
