Mine was the fact that Anne Frank and Martin Luther King Jr were both born in 1929 😭
At no point in my HS history class did our teacher mention that she was alive and living a few hours away from us.

4chan fined $26K for refusing to assess risks under UK Online Safety Act
4chan's actual legal response to this can be summarized as "We are incorporated in Delaware which has not been subject to UK law since 1783. See the Treaty of Paris".

Why are employees so demanding?!
But we can somehow afford $150,000,000 in stock buybacks!
My employer actually did this. They even told us they had no money for raises. We found out why by reading the SEC filings.

"No Kings Day" protests turn out millions, rebuking Trump | Our unofficial estimate is that around 4-6 million people attended a protest event yesterday. Anti-Trump resistance is outpacing 2017.
We gotta keep the momentum up. History suggests the threshold for achieving change is a turnout of 3.5% (roughly 12 million active participants)

We crossed that threshold so long ago that you can make 5x the poverty level and still not be able to afford a house.

Someone Forked Systemd to Strip Out Its Age Verification Support

They should also remove the phone number prompt that UNIX has had since before systemd even existed. Your phobe number is an optional part of the GECOS field and has been there for a very long time without anyone freaking out like this.

Sega tried this back in the 90s and already lost in court. The court ruled that by making the use of it's trademark a required element in order to perform an otherwise lawful activity, any resulting trademark confusion was the fault of Sega.

Probably the longstanding GOP goal of privatizing everything. To get public support for that, they first have to cripple the public service.

Oh it gets better (or worse?) there are plenty of color photographs from Dr King's 1963 march and speech. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/kennethbachor/rare-color-martin-luther-king-photos
At least this is somewhat more excusable since newspapers were still mostly using B&W. The color photos would have been for the weekly or monthly news magazines which were using color.

Virginia Supreme Court rules U.S. Marine’s adoption of an Afghan war orphan will stand
Reply in thread
Worse, an adoption that was conducted in violation of the laws of war.
The Marine committed a war crime and he should be court martialed. The judges who ruled in his favor are accessories to a war crime. As per the supremacy clausr, the Geneva Convention supercedes state law.
"Individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory to the territory of the Occupying Power or to that of any other country, occupied or not, are prohibited, regardless of their motive."

You have to use a flatbed tow truck, same as Subarus and other AWD cars.

The harder they try to do that the more our stock moves in the other direction.
I guess the short sellers are happy.
