Hopefully with time we move away from the redditisms. A lot of overlap at the moment. Let's be a new community. Not a mirror of them.

This is a very good perspective. I haven't been on Reddit since the blackout started. Probably would have gone back as well but the AMA comments were the final straw for me.

Exactly - as long as the instance isnt defederated, you should be able to post/comment/upvote/mod in communities that are outside of your home instance.

I must be grandfathered in. I have YouTube Music for $9.99 a month that also includes YouTube Premium

I had to move Sync off the homepage of my phone to avoid the muscle memory of just clicking it mindlessly. I have caught myself once or twice wanting to type it into the URL.

Or they took it offline to "hide" all the blacked out subreddits. Some had images about the third party apps as their only post, which was on the front page. By going offline it makes it seem like more of a technical issue rather than a protest.

Jerboa is a nice replacement for now, but I love the way sync was set up. That said, with time Jerboa could become feature rich. And options is key!

I'm surprised he hadn't said the quiet part out loud yet in another AMA.

I really get the feeling they are trying to rekindle some of the old with this season. I think they forgot how much they enjoyed it until they started rewatching during the podcast. I know not everyone is enjoying this season but it feels like a return to what made it great.

Emulation is a beautiful thing. Especially with that game. Wish the switch had more power but my PC does the trick!

Heat playing like they cant lose. While I am rooting for Denver, its fun to see the fight.

Because it's included with my YouTube music subscription.

Well, sounds like its time to change it from two days to indefinite. Which it should have been from the get-go.

Can't speak for anyone else but I love my electric mower, weed eater and leaf blower.

I have been copy/pasting the links to reddit in the Wayback Machine. So far every result I've needed has been saved. Even works if I convert the link to old reddit.

Don't delete it just yet, the app developer mentioned there is a chance he updates the API and app to work with Lemmy.

I don't think the hesitation is with the developer of Sync. I think he is worried about the sustained success from Lemmy. If people keep staying active, more people will join. But it could also fade away quickly (I hope not).

I agreed with Casa Bonita until I read the part about their show. That was a good point. Why was it ok for them but not anyone else?

I thought Randy was going to tie it up at the end. Great matchup!

This is a tough one for me. If it was just the API changes I probably would have been hesitant but would have returned. As long as old.reddit still worked I probably would have used that.
BUT...... the AMA spez did hurt those chances. He could have avoided dragging the Apollo guy through the mud. So as long as he is there, tough to imagine I will be going back.
