When I was in my early 20s, I foolishly dated a selfish stingy man for wayyyyy too long. I would go all out and get him whatever he asked for, take him out, the works, and I would have to save for months because I was a grad student working 3 PT jobs. For my birthday one year, he planned nothing, but my parents were nice enough to invite him to the fancy dinner they were paying for at a swanky blues club. He shows up with a plastic bag from one of those mega truck stops. Inside was a shark beanie baby and silver skull-shaped tire valve covers. I hated beanie babies, had no particular thing for sharks, skulls, or random ass car accessories. I was so embarrassed in front of my parents.

I have beets, cukes and dill growing in the garden right now, so this is perfect timing! My beets are golden tho so it won’t be that beautiful color sadly. Now to figure out where to get kefir!

lemon cukes are my favorite to grow! They have been easier and more productive than other green varieties. and they are so pretty!

Love the many vegan roll options at Blue Sushi (2 locations, one in westwood and power and light district). I adore the cowgirl roll…fried pickle, crispy onions, smoky soy wrapper. They also have vegan substitutes for spicy tuna and tobiko,which is fun. Tree Hugger north of the river on Vivion rd is great too. The Monte Cristo is so so good.

Schnauzers are the best dogs! Smart, a little ornery (but not too much), love their people and think they are bigger than they are.

This was the first movie I thought of too! I saw it when it was released in an art house theatre. I didn’t know much about it, and apparently most of the audience didn’t either. Once the film got to that scene where the guy buys a teen boy magazine and climbs into the back of the car to…you know….a bunch of people just got up and walked out!

Eggshells take too long to dissolve, even when powdered, to fix this issue quickly. Grab some bonide rot stop or fertilome yield booster which are liquid formulas you can dilute and add to stop end rot. I had this issue with certain varieties of tomato when grown in pots, and I discovered that watering once a day was not enough, and the tomatoes depleted all the nutrition in the soil pretty quickly. I mulch and then water twice a day when it gets above 90f, and add yield booster every few weeks.

I meant to update you sooner, but I did make the soup and I easily found kefir at my Aldi! It was delicious. I’m making it again today which made me think to tell you about how much I love and crave this soup! Thanks!

I loved all the ancillary books. IMO not knowing anyone’s gender for sure was part of the fun. It does rely on the reader to work at making connections tho. I can see why some folks don’t like that aspect, but I personally like some challenge.
