I myself use Droid-ify and it has a setting for auto update. Note that, no auto update for third-party appstores below Android 13, including F-Droid.

It's the only one and it was accidental. Don't remember what I was trying to do but I was in a computer class in high school, doing something with BASIC. What I did was basically is, the same window opens infinitely until RAM is full, then Windows crashes into BSOD. It was a fun view. Tried it on another PC in the class to be sure too, transferred it via a diskette.

Well, Manjaro popped up when a lot of people cannot install Arch on their own. Same thing with Ubuntu and Debian. Once a userbase formed, people follow suit I guess.

That's a feature of Arch Linux though. If you don't want that, there are bunch of distros you don't need tweaking.

Well, normies don't usually care about privacy either, so those align. However some non tech-savvy people care about privacy, maybe these steps would be better for them in the short span before they are committed to Linux.

It was a selling point for Manjaro at some point but people really shouldn't use AUR with it. That's just an invitation to a disaster. I think Manjaro is stable if you don't mix it with AUR. Used it for 6 years and the worst I remember was their Nvidia cataclysm, mostly it was fine.

Not sure if I would want to use cutting edge on mobile though. I tried PostmarketOS and Ubuntu Touch a couple years ago and Ubuntu Touch was actually daily drivable-ish. Really loved SXMO too, it's a way different mobile experience.

If you don't count my 6 years with Manjarno, I've used Arch for ~7 years and only 3 times I had to fix something, 2 times because of Nvidia, once my fault. I had way more problems with Ubuntu in the past than Arch by the way. :)

If it's functional as a reader that's fine I think. You can also turn it into a some kind of server though Android 2.2 is really old and you won't likely to find apps from F-Droid for it.
