What is the most counterintuitive piece of music that you actively use?

Normally, I fall asleep to this white noise, but for some reason, I also fall asleep to From Afar by Ensiferum and I mean that I sleep like a baby. I don't mean that I just barely can fall asleep to it. It feels amazingly good. My theory is that it makes me drift off to places in my mind that feel good, that are not of this shitty world, which in turn induces sweet dreams. No idea.

How about you? Anybody here falling asleep, studying or meditate to Dimmu Borgir's Indoctrination or the likes? 🤣😛

Shit, I forgot that Ensiferum existed. I haven't listened to this band for 20 years, thanks for the tip!

I had a friend in highschool who claimed to sleep better listening to metal like Cradle of Filth and Powerman 5000. I crashed at his place a few times and he would put the music on loud, like had to yell to be heard over it loud. Not a chance I could fall asleep like that but he was snoring by the time I decided seeming cool and going along wasn't as valuable as good sleep. He lived in a detached guest house in the backyard, so I guess his parents never noticed.

The best sleeps of my life have been after drinking several energy drinks and blasting metal as loud as I can in my earbuds after a long day hoping it motivates me to get something done... ill usually end up clonking out within a half hour. I think the caffeine and loud music give my ADHD brain enough dopamine to relax
