What is the difference between piefed and lemmy and what are the advantages of this platform?

I would complete ignore whatever politics of Lemmy or PieFed people try and sway you with. Way too many people on here trying to start drama.

In my experience, Lemmy moves slow but things are very stable. PieFed moves fast adding lots of features that Lemmy is missing, but tends to break things a little more. Both are very useable platforms.

I’ve personally had great interactions with the Lemmy and PieFed devs, and I know they collaborate with each other behind the scenes.

And if you’re unsure, I would just make a PieFed and lemmy account and try both. But the specific PieFed or Lemmy instance you choose might matter just as much as which software you choose.

DIY hammock palace

I had no idea there was a diy tent world. Just out of curiosity what’s the motivation? Do commercial tents like this not exist, do people just enjoy the DIY, or is it for people that truly want a tent that exactly meets their vision?

They replaced the toggle with a button that you can program to do any one of a selection of things. For example, my phones always on silent so I use this button to turn on/off the flashlight. They have a it a really dumb marketing name ✨ The Action Button ✨

He’s lived in a lot of houses over the years including a college house. So we invited all his friends from college for his 18th birthday. He always seemed oddly comfortable being surrounded by lots of people and a little chaos. So I think he appreciated getting to see a big group of his friends after having graduated college.

As for camping, we booked a little cabin in the woods. The cabin had electricity and an ac, but no running water, if that gives you an idea. So it was a camping, but comfortable enough for him to like it, aka glamping. Initially he seemed confused being in a new place, but after a couple hours, he was very excited by all the nature around him. In his old age, his top speed was very slow, so we could let him explore a little without him running off.
