Democrats balk at Alito assertion that Congress has ‘no authority’ over Supreme Court
Expand and term-limit SCOTUS. Why does a branch of the government operate this way?

Trump Extremists Make New Calls to Hang Mike Pence: 'Watch His Toes Dangle'
Someone pleas explain the mental state of these people if they’re pissed that Pence -by Trump’s own admission- was being “honest” by not handing him the election.

What's an industry that's known to treat its workers very well?
Depends on what you mean by being treated well. The tech industry typically has fantastic office spaces, benefits and pay, but generally speaking they get overworked and under appreciated.
Social work, public health, education and that kind of “good for the world” work (not sure how to lump it all together) typically has bad pay, long hours, and unpleasant work spaces, but a really high degree of appreciation by their coworkers, superiors and clients.
Just some examples I’m familiar with

Omg I fucking hate food blogs. Nobody wants an essay on the history of lentils followed by a 5-page story about the first time the author tried coriander!
Just give me a bullet point list you assholes! I don’t care if you get more ad money if I have to scroll for 30 seconds.

White neighbour who fatally shot Black mother in row over children playing pleads not guilty to manslaughter
Lorincz allegedly “called [Owens’] children racial slurs”. But the attorney thought there was insufficient evidence that she had “hatred, spite, ill will or evil intent toward Owens”.
A lot depends on the credibility of those allegations. If they’re good enough for the independent to report, shouldn’t they be good enough to support “ill will”?

“Heavier than any other creature, including the dinosaurs”… this author doesn’t seem to know that blue whales are heavier than any of the dinosaurs.

Who were the “fake electors”, and what did they do ?
Reply in thread
Thanks. How would they ever get away with that? Aren’t electoral college members selected way in advance? I know they aren’t legally required to vote the way their constituents want, but if a state replaced one altogether with a stooge, wouldn’t their vote just not count?

Pretty par for the economist. Not the same take as every other news outlet, not exactly the take I agree with on all points, but not totally wrong either.
