Bread hording

This actually highlights an important distinction in meta ethics (ethics about how to determine ethics). There is a divide amongst philosophers of what makes sense in pure analytical logic, and what makes sense in contextual reasoning. This divide is also shown to come up in "continental" vs "English speaking" philosophies. The two approach how to examine not just ethics, but truth overall in very different ways. I personally am of the belief that there needs to be an integration of these two in order for ethics to properly work, but to summarize this already too long Lemmy comment into one idea: fuck hoarding value of any kind.

What comes after postmodernism?

Postmodernism was established because nobody could agree on what was happening after modernism, so they just meant for it to be “after modernism”. Some say that there will no longer be “eras” or “movements” that we have detached our society from collective identities. But I would argue that the qualifier for a collective identity like modernism or the renaissance, is all about what was most valued at the time. And today, I would argue that we are in an age of individualism. Loss of trust and belief in any system, and as we slide closer to anarchy, we will soon find it’s not as “cool” as we think it is. It’s just rule by power.

If God truly is ‘all-powerful’ and ‘omnipotent,’ then Jesus dying wasn’t the only way to ‘save us.’”

what many people don’t understand about actions the christian God made is that she had to make decisions that allowed for humans to understand that she sent Jesus to prove there’s a better way to live and that you don’t need to live in shame or subservience. What is the one thing that can’t be faked in our world? Death. That’s why it was a big deal.
