Nearly 70 percent of deaths in Gaza are women and children: UN

US military can literally hit one target in a building using a literal knife missile - https://www.wsj.com/politics/national-security/pentagon-used-six-bladed-ginsu-weapon-to-kill-iraqi-militia-leader-7dfe0687

Israel proved they could target precision strike an Iranian general in a single room.

There is in fact an expectation for the military to not bomb indiscriminately, except when in the case of Gaza they choose to bomb indisciminately.

The Hutu's used the term "cockroaches" to dehumanize. The Nazi's used "rats". But at least those are living creatures. But "a shield", calling a human being a shield, as if they're an inanimate object meant to be struck, as if they're a nuisance that you're meant to get through to hit your target? Calling these civilians "human shields" is a new low for dehumanizing language, and Israel defenders don't realize what kind of monster everyone else sees them as. So wild that it's considered acceptable language by mainstream culture, fucking terrifying.

I would argue that schools are really just a battery farm for obedient workers. Getting good marks doesn't mean the kid is smart, just means they're good at doing what they're told even if they don't want to, and thus makes a perfect and obedient worker. It also gets kids used to the idea of not having any rights, and having to ask to do basic human rights like eat or go to the bathroom.

Playground bullies do prosper – and go on to earn more in middle age

Bullying is a part of British culture, the "yes m'lord" attitude is still strong within them, don't cause a fuss, "keep calm and carry on" is their motto for a reason...

https://theweek.com/101863/why-england-s-schools-are-among-worst-in-world-for-bullying

https://www.agencycentral.co.uk/articles/does-the-uk-have-a-workplace-bullying-problem/

As someone who has spent half their life in the UK and the other half in the USA, specifically the English are particularly nasty and have a strange admiration for the "clever bully", both in school and at work. That isn't to say the USA doesn't have bullies, they're just not as universally admired.

And we will keep allowing oligarchical tyrants like Putin to rob us and slaughter our heroes and communities. If we were better people we would've put a stop to this already, but the framers know we're pathetic, which is why fascism will take over the world. For too many decades now I've seen movements, protests, demonstrations, voting, all these ways fail us time and time again, only making things slip into worse and worse situations. We need to stop playing the game by their rules, but we can't even agree with eachother in Lemmy comment threads let alone organize to do anything that matters.

Trump popularity.

Whenever I brought this up to my Trump-supporting aunt (who lives in the UK) she would just wave it off and say, "Oh that's fake news." I genuinely think they're incapable of even entertaining those facts, let alone seeing them and supporting them as you say. It's an absurd level of brainwashing.
