A crowd destroyed a driverless Waymo car in San Francisco
Who considers vandalism and defacement a "time-honored" part of the human experience?
Definitely a part, but time-honored???

We call that “productive procrastination.” But I like how you call it weaponized.

Trump campaign forced to pay North Carolina city $82k in advance for rally
Why Asheville? It’s a pretty heavily Democrat area of NC. Seems like an odd choice for a Trump rally.

Do Americans not understand what has happened?
Some know, but it’s very hard to see how to have a positive impact. I don’t have millions of dollars, and getting into politics is daunting (also, no money).
I’ve seen some say that the best thing is to make sure you have strong local communities and that at least I can try to work on. It doesn’t have huge visibility but knowing there is a network of people to count on when everything gets worse is a good thing.

Maintaining a waxed chain is WAAAAY easier than maintaining a wet lubed chain

I just waxed the chain on my gravel bike and it’s going great so far. Maybe time to consider the mountain bikes. I do spend a lot of time lubing chains.

U.S. ready to cut support to Scouts, accusing them of attacking 'boy-friendly spaces'
Reply in thread
Scout Troops can be very different and it all really depends on the people and the community.
My experiences haven’t been overly military, though some scouts from the troop have gone on to join the military. Likewise, we don’t push religion hard, but some of our scouts are deeply religious and others are not.
What I see is a program that at its heart is trying to teach youth about being responsible for themselves, being a good citizen, giving back to the community and country through charitable service, and learning some basic principles of leadership. Where else do youth get those experiences?

Star Wars Fans Seem to Be Review-Bombing the Wrong 'Acolyte'
I have been pleasantly surprised by The Acolyte so far. I’ve seen lots of internet hate, but I can’t really see what they are complaining about.
It’s doing a nice job expanding on the lore and while there are certainly some tropes involved, the writing hasn’t been bad.
