Is there a USB drive flashing program in APT?
mkusb is a simple bash script around dd to make things easier. I always have it installed on my laptop, in my ~/bin/.

'Why does he keep speaking English to me?' Chinese woman scolds AirAsia crew for not speaking Mandarin
Reply in thread
Don't get me wrong, this woman is a Karen and actually quite typical of the mainland China entitlement and behavior. BUT there's a massive amount of mandarin speaking people in Malaysia to the point where it's a destination for mainland Chinese. Not excusing her ridiculous behavior but providing context here.

‘I took two bites and had to spit it out’: candy makers are phasing out real cocoa in chocolate
It's fascinating how hard some sectors are fighting to forbid replacement meats or milks to call themselves steak or milk. But those products barely resembling the original name are completely allowed to call themselves chocolate or fruit juice (based on some concentrate and some other stuff).

Very little substance, wide generalization because that woman doesn't think she's a bad person. Not much to read here.

As I'm sure most of you are aware, Reddit is now censoring Luigi's name entirely and have been giving out warnings and bans as they are considering it to be promoting violence.

That's exactly how it works in China, the language is constantly evolving to go around censorship. It gets very creative actually, it's fascinating.
https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/insights/chinese-take-creative-approach-internet-censorship
A new lexicon has emerged on the Chinese internet, consisting of code words, homonyms, and vocabulary laced with mockery, satire, or sarcasm. The words “empty chair” refer to jailed dissident Liu Xiaobo, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize but was barred by Chinese authorities from going to Oslo to accept it. Being “harmonized” means being censored, a reference to top leaders’ frequent calls for creating a harmonious society. Chinese netizens invented the “grass mud horse,” or “cao ni ma,” a mythical creature whose name sounds like a Chinese profanity. The alpaca-like creature emerged online as a symbol of resistance to censorship, setting blogs, and social sites abuzz with images, songs, and poems about it.

That's not entirely true, France is battling with very similar issues to the US. A rising far right power, media that are using the fox news playbook, t additional media that is playing catch-up and following the Overton window set by the previous point, similar blue collar struggles, a president that is appealing to the right while claiming the center despite a majority of constituents clearly signaling left in the last elections, etc. France is not far behind unfortunately.

Conservatives: Libz don't even know what a woman is. Also Conservatives: *constantly engage with purely synthetic creations thinking that they are women.*
What's fascinating is the constant worry about trans and women not being able to serve be cause they couldn't possibly. But somehow, that is fine be cause they're pretty? Just another example of the inconsistency in their thinking.

Between Apple walled garden and the new dev signature thing from Google, those big players sure do like control over what we can do as users.
I agree with you, PWA is the way but Apple has been slow walking integration for years now (see https://brainhub.eu/library/pwa-on-ios)

In mainland China it's called Douyin, exactly the same app, same company, not the same content of course. It's separate because Beijing wants a tighter control on social media in mainland China.
