Android users can't remove nude-scanning app as Google opens the feature to app developers

Reportedly, the app uses an on-device machine learning model to classify the content.

Using your shiny new phone to train AI...

For now its only supposed to check Google Messages, so not if you use a different text app.

But one vulnerability already is side loaded versions with super high version numbers so they won't be auto updated. Those will scan everything and do whatever with it. Considering the apps point is to scan for nudes, likely sending all your nudes to the hacker.

At least 25% of former NFL players who died between 2016 and 2021 had Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), study finds

It's weird people treat this as a binary disorder...

Like everything it's a spectrum, and most adults will rack some up.

A propensity for it would have even been an evolutionary advantage for much of human history. If fights (against humans or animals) were frequent, it led to increased aggression and faster escalation to violence in future interactions.

Which would have been the correct response.

And much more relevant: is the exact same response that sets players apart from others on the field and make it to the next level. The easier you rack up CTE, the harder you play, so the longer you play.

It's a feedback loop. One that incredibly wealthy oligarchs make billions off of annually.

Trump Team Refuses to Explain Imported Beef Origin as Backlash Grows

The Tyson beef plant that just got shutdown in the Midwest is going to fuck Republicans...

Not because of the 2-3k workers, not because of the increased price consumers pay.

But all the livestock owners who suddenly have nowhere near to slaughter cattle at scale are fucked. Couple that with flooding the market with Argentinian beef, and a lot of Republican voters are going to stay home for midterms.

They might not admit to themselves they want Republicans to lose majorities, and they'll likely spend the next two years bitching about Dems. But a lot of them just won't find the time to vote when they're getting fucked this blatantly

Kansas has not elected a Democrat to the US Senate since 1932. Will that change in November?

It doesn't matter where you preach, it matters what you preach....

And he has decades of sermons and podcasts online for anyone to check what his positions have been.

I know next to nothing about him, but from what I've seen politicians like him are going to be instrumental in passing a progressive platform thru Congress.

We need those seats, we need any seat that we can fill with someone who supports progressive policy.

Hesgeth's Pastor Wants to Repeal Women's Voting Rights

Literally what they accuse Muslims of...

His focus now is on growing his movement through "preaching the gospel, planting churches, starting classical Christian schools" to gradually turn the U.S. into a Christian theocracy over the course of several generations, despite the Constitution prohibiting the government from establishing an official religion.

Under that vision, Wilson told NPR that non-Christians wouldn't hold public office. Asked whether non-Christians would be allowed to vote, Wilson said, "Yes, probably," adding that there would be restrictions on public spaces for non-Christian activities.

"So probably the best illustration of this would be church bells? Yes. Minarets? No," he said.

Why?

"Because, the public space would belong to Christ," he added.

Abdul El-Sayed takes on Jesse Watters: "I feel good about beating Rogers who we both agree is beta"

I wouldn't be surprised if they put Democrats on a delay to make them look slow to respond in clips, and also make the constant interruptions look both sided.

It wouldn't be hard to get used to the delay, and get the timing down so that someone responding to a question looks like they're trying to change the subject from what they haven't even heard you say.

I wouldn't put it past Faux, but I'm not going to put the effort into watching enough to see a pattern

Man Charged With 3 Felonies For Breaking 3D-Printed ‘Decoy’ Flock Camera

Reply in thread

It's the same crime if someone broke a $5 3d printed piece of junk anyone else made...

Cops likely wouldn't even write a ticket. They absolutely would not arrest someone.

Everyone who thinks that's worth the staffing to surveil it 24/7 till someone broke it, should try calling cops and reporting something worth $999 stolen to the cops.

They'll fucking laugh at you and refuse to even file a report for insurance.

That's my entire point, the only point of this was to change the publics expressed political views thru threat of illegal arrest and trumped up charges.

That's literally state sponsored terrorism.

Bait cars are worth money, and for legal purposes are actual cars...

If you steal a bait car, you still steal car.

This guy didn't damage anything containing electronics, and it costs a few dollars knocking out all the other felonies.

Charges should be filed on the cops for all this, because they reasonably should have known the entire thing was at minimal a wanton waste of resources.

Trump Threatens to Rename Lake Ontario as He Spirals Over Canada Feud

Trump also denied reports that Canada pulled out of trade negotiations over the weekend over crazy last-minute demands from Trump administration officials such as changing Quebec’s French-language protections.

I could 100% believe trump or one of his idiots tried to make that demand.

But if he didn't, and Ford just made that shit up, I 100% support that tactic.

Every other country should just do the same shit to trump at the same time.

I want to hear Aussies saying they can't deal with trump because he demanded the legally define any blade over 3 inches as a sword and not a knife.

I want England to say he wants them to ban beans on toast.

Germany to say he wants to force all beer to be non alcoholic.

Italians saying he wants to ban gluten.

Flood the zone with so much shit he's constantly on the defensive and doesn't have the energy to start actual wars or even trade wars.

Keep the baby distracted till midterms and maybe we can get rid of him thru congress. Or at least get him in check somewhat.

The Vegan Society Reveals Fresh New Look For World’s Original Vegan Trademark

These things are usually grifts...

Whoever creates it charges everyone that wants to put on their product.

I tried searching for how much they charge, and it "depends" on how much money the company makes, so that likely means they squeeze everyone as much as possible. And can have a wide variation based on connections.

If it's not a flat fee, then it's almost certainly a grift. How much profit a product makes shouldn't factor in the coat to verify it's vegan

That doesn’t really seem solid to me

Well, that's because you don't seem to know what a bait car is...

The modification is usually just that the car shuts off in less than a minute. Some will disable seatbelt releases or lock the doors so you can't get out.

But the thing that makes it a bait car, is there's no risk of high speed pursuit. It is still a car.

For grand theft auto you need to prove they intended to actually steal the car otherwise it’s just joyriding.

What the fuck is that even?

You think if someone steals a car, the charges are reduced if they say it's for funsies?

At the very least it’d seem like they’d still be up for vandalism/destruction of property,

Again, you have no idea what I'm talking about, what the article is talking about, or how criminal charges work...

In general the value of the object determines misdemeanor/felony. Which I'm assuming you might not know, is a huge difference.

If charged on the actual value, no DA would charge. So they want to charge on the perceived value, which is still under the felony limit.

At the very least it’d seem like

Crimes under the felony threshold should be charged as misdemeanor equivalents...
