Blanche won’t rule out DOJ post-election action in a ‘doomsday’ scenario

The attorney general’s comments come in the middle of a broader campaign by the Trump administration to zero in on what election experts say is a relatively rare phenomenon of voting by noncitizens.

Attorney General Todd Blanche on Thursday left open the possibility that the Justice Department could seek to block states from certifying votes in the midterm elections, though he said it wasn’t his intention to “improperly interfere with elections.”

NBC News reported this week that the Justice Department is weighing more election-related litigation against states after it sued California to compel state officials to review 18,000 registered voters it suspected could be noncitizens seeking to cast fraudulent ballots. California has an all-mail election and sends out ballots automatically.

Washington, D.C., and seven other states do, too: Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Vermont and Washington. Mail voting has frequently been a target for President Donald Trump’s voter fraud claims, which have escalated ahead of the 2026 midterms, even as he uses the voting method to cast his ballot in Florida.

Chuck Schumer and Jeffries are ready to suck trump's cock while delivering a sternly worded letter.

They're part of the problem because they're not actually willing to be part of the solution.

Gore and Harris, too.

Though it should be said Hilary was never going to beat Trump. Not only was she the one person that represented “The Eatablishment” running against an anti-establishment platform when people were pissed at the establishment…. She also behaved as though she was entitled to win, (see her absence in Michigan)

She also LITERALLY propped up Trump, told news outlets to talk him seriously, and encouraged people to not see him as a clown.

You know... Totally not barely controlled opposition party behavior.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., reacted to Blanche’s comments, saying Senate Democrats “have been preparing for this for months and will be ready for whatever” the Trump administration tries.

"As Trump and his cronies attempt to steal this election, we are fighting them at every turn,” Schumer posted on X. “Our elections must always belong to the voters — not Donald Trump.”

Schumer (and Jeffries) haven't done shit. They haven't even tried, and if they had no one would listen to them

But billionaire owned media is always going to pretend they're the reason things happen

Yeah, I don’t believe Schumer or Jeffries will do anything beyond self-aggrandizing political theater. They’ve systematically demonstrated the caliber of their character, and it is teeny tiny.

It’s fuckin’ embarrassing.

Whoa, to be fair, the Democratic Party has done everything they can to block progressive candidates and push shit incumbents to avoid watering down the vote for various positions. Gotta prevent the republicans from winning, right? That's a lot they've done. /s

What a shit scenario, but still go vote!

The neoliberals lost the DNC in February of 2025...

There's not really an excuse to still not know about that weeks before the 2016 midterms

Please point to some actual actions that demonstrate this is true. You've been repeating this for a while now but always just point to empty gestures and hollow words as 'proof' despite the party still rolling over for Trump at every turn and the same pro-corporate, establishment candidates getting all the party backing.

4

The news doesn't cover the news any more. It's fully owned and controlled largely. And too many here ascribed to them all being the same to pay attention. And for good reason where neoliberals are concerned.

Hopefully if Democrats get some power, someone takes it from Schumer. Uses all of this as precedence and prosecutes many, executing several. Anything less and the apathy surrounding Democrats will continue. But I'm not holding my breath.

So we're fucked either way.

This is the Hundred Years Reich, and if you just couldn't vote for Harris, or refused to vote because you're holding out for The Revolution, this is what you chose. And there ain't no revolution.

You reached the end
