I've done that a few times. I also quit smoking that way when I ran out of cigs, didn't buy more right away, then forgot to ever buy more. I started back up months later, switched to vaping, then forgot about that too when I moved the vape from it's designated spot to an area of the house I don't frequent.

[AskFinance] How often do you eat out, and does that impact your finances?

About once a week. We're more concerned about the impact on our waist lines than our finances.

One thing we try to do to save money is to order meals for leftovers. As an example, a $14 burger will almost always be one meal, while a $14 Thai curry typically lasts for 3 meals or more. Even within specific restaurants, bowls or plates offer more bang for your buck than sandwich entrees.

We also often roast vegetables or other side dishes in the oven while waiting for delivery, mainly for health but it's also typically cheaper.

People who keep journals or diaries, do you hand write or type?

I have been typing my journals for over a decade. If you don't have a fondness for handwriting, then it will not make you feel any better. I find it frustrating to write by hand. It's significantly slower than my thoughts, it adds more clutter, it's less convenient, it cramps my hand, and you lose out on the ability to search your notes to help you remember events or check your progress. You don't have to use a fancy journaling app if you don't want to. I just use Google docs.

ADHD and Periods

I have PMDD and dysmenorrhea. My ADHD meds are virtually ineffective during my period, and between the depression, pain, and fatigue, I am not able to get much done at all during my period. I have not responded well to antidepressants or birth control.

There are a few things that somewhat help - exercise, raspberry leaf tea, blackstrap molasses, eating clean, Epsom salt baths, Midol. I still spend the majority of the time glued to the couch with a heatpad. I can sometimes get a few things done with a portable heatpad but still not much.
