Magnet stripes arent used in europe, you can disable it in the ebanking, as it is very insecure (the pin is stored in the magnetstrip itself)

What are the worst distro-specific problems you have faced?
CachyOS, freshly installed: KDE Connect doesnt work, as Cachy blocks the needed ports. Was solved by 1' of searching online but still irritating that such a simple thing is a problem, as KDE is top of the list of DE while installing and KDE Connect comes preinstalled.
Other Distros arent that strict with the ports so its (almost) only a Cachy problem.

The water wars have started, and it's not between countries, it's between neighborhoods and data centers.

Italy and France want Swiss water France and Italy rely on Switzerland for their agriculture: water that is increasingly lacking. The Confederation is negotiating with France and Italy.

Not helping, but pdf arranger is amazing! Am always pissed when I see the "preview" on macOS But I think that firefox is currently working on many PDF reader features, so maybe most people dont even need it anymore

President Donald Trump bans Anthropic from use in government systems
You have to realize, what exactly Anthropic refused: To extend the current contract to two things:
refusing those two things makes it to be the only AI company that is ""radical left"". Now Google, OpenAI or Grok will do what Anthropic has done already, plus mass surveillance plus AI-killcommands

Where adults live at home
It bothers me that "adults" are defined as 25-29 year olds. The year-range is sensible for this graphic, but the title is a bit off imo.
Oh, and "home"≠"with parents"! The title sucks :D

San Francisco Mayor Daniele Lurie was spotted riding the bus and answered a question from a resident
Wow, as a swiss resident this comes across rude. Dont get me wrong, its nice to see politicians in discourse with the people but the guy just kinda said: "Hello, I have a question and now I have another quite hard to answer political question."
I'd have said: "May I ask you something politics related?" And then accepted a No if the politician wants to have a quite ride.
Behaving like this is going to encourage private travel in a car.

America could have avoided all of this with a functional justice system
Or a proportional voting system, that doesnt produce a two party situation.

Linux has over 6% of the desktop market? Yes, you read that right - here's how

I tested Gnome and KDE Plasma5 in the last year. KDE Plasma is in my opinion the first DE which is comparable with Win/MacOS. It looks modern, is pretty much feature complete and as an average user its nice to have useful apps preinstalled (calculator, libreoffice, firefox and so on), but no bloatware.
Its just a bit more customizable than windows, which is perfect and also not fiddly and a pain. It certainly has a handful of quirks, like Windows does, but you get used to them.
If I have to set up elderly relatives with a computer, I'd strongly consider a KDE Plasma Desktop

Can we possibly create our personal email ?

you severely underestimate how big of a project this is. I got into homeservers a few years ago and still dont trust myself to open anything up to the internet. and a mailserver is very likely getting targetted, getting flooded with spam and at the same time has to have good uptime to be useable and practical. I think you should do this: Host something small first, like a PiHole oder AdGuard. Then maybe an arr Stack or Home Assistant. After that Immich/Ente and then a Website. Id you did at least one or two projects I mentionned you will be able to judge for yourself if you are ready for a own mailserver

Samsungs stakeholders cannot capitalize on the whole 8-fold growth, as a part of that goes to the workers who actually produce the goods. If you really want a catch, thats the only one I can think of.
