Lemmy.world Admin Response to Defederation from Exploding Heads
Reply in thread
I disagree. If an instance wants to consistently violate community rules, and is run by mods and admins who approve of said violations, they have no business being federated with a mainstream instance.
If you don't like this decision, you are welcome to join an instance that never defederates anyone and then you can see absolutely everything. No need for account switching, you can see all the communities from such an account.
After all, the main thing you select when you choose an instance is you admin and mod team, so find an instance that alligns with your purviews.

What Android app should I use to browse Lemmy?

swipe from the left to bring up the navigation menu, and click the veeeeery top. On mine it shows my profile name but that is where it lets you add accounts.

What are the best phones with headphone jacks?
Nokia XR21. Waterproof, drop proof, 4 years of updates, programmable physical buttons.
I have its predecessor and it is a fabulous device.

Sustainable & eco-friendly smartphones
I just recommended it in another thread but I can recommend the Nokia XR21 here too. Made of mostly recycled materials and designed to last at least 4 years without maintenance. Nokia's whole gimmick right now is trying to make phones that aren't worn out so quickly.

FIA's tougher stance will catch F1 cost cap cheats, says Wolff
Reply in thread
What sucks about the cost cap is that all the teams started from where they were in 2020 in terms of facilities, infrastructure, tools, software, etc. James Vowles complained that he is having to spend capEx at Williams on things every other team already has, so he's fighting an uphill battle both trying to get spend to get Williams on the same page AND to improve the car.
He said in a recent interview that capEx needs to be distributed like wind tunnel time for it to be totally fair.

Done with Twitter and Reddit
Honestly just don't bother with mastodon.
I deleted Twitter years ago and don't miss it at all.

Favourite gimmick loadouts?
Carbine Sniper.
I take a bow, but more importantly I take the Cleaners Carbine and Bushwacka. The idea is to play near the front and build up Crikey, then activate it to get guaranteed crits on the Bushwacka. The bow is basically for cheesing sentries.

Are you still enjoying F1 this season?
