Most desktops are windows but most of the work is done in gitlab/vscode or Linux bastions and then run on kubernetes. Another team is working on a corporate Ubuntu image and some are testing it so I'm hopeful for others to move off of windows.

Buying your own rig for sure but paying hourly vs monthly will depend on how much you game on that server.

Running tasks/scripts based off event triggers. More robust backup/rollback system. Like hourly while it's running. S API support if not already there. Being able to start it with a discord bot would be nice along with being able to add players from discord.

Yeah, I missed that from the battlefield games, being able to join non dec hosted servers was the best of both worlds. Didn't have to join a discord server to make a party but could still play on the same server enough to make friends.

That was my thought process for a bit with having a raid not get mounted intermittently. Now it's finally stable.

Well if they beta this weekend rolls around and it doesn't work I'll refund and wait for the official it is supported to buy it. People were playing it on Linux before though so I'm hoping it still works.
