Goodbye, everyone

Reply in thread

To add context here: it seems like this wasn’t even discussed with the other developers, Brooklyn seems just as confused and lost with this announcement

Then adding the line “don’t contact me” seems just a very strange way to close the message.

I’m all for protecting mental health and if not working on this app will help contribute to his well being then that is supported. The message itself, however, isn’t delivered well and could be handled in a more responsible manner.

Add to it that he stated the app would be live for another 2 days, then removed from testflight. And it’s already removed. With no real communication to the other developers, who seem to be hearing this only from this thread.

T-Mobile Starting to Really Grind My Gears

Reply in thread

This this this.

Don’t interact with this message!

Go straight to T-Mobile.com. Check your account for any messages like this.

I haven’t heard of this at all for anyone, including myself. T-Mobile and Apple have a deal for Apple Card to be used for that 3 percent on service payments. Why would they randomly change it without warning or publication

[Gamerant] Critical Role Removes Hundreds of Videos from YouTube

Reply in thread

BWF is Brian Wayne Foster.

He’s one of the (now ex) members of critical role. He was engaged to Ashley Johnson (from critical role, Ellie in TLOU games, waitress in avengers) and they separated with restraining orders because of abuse and general assholeishness.

So critical role is removing him from their content as best as they can so he doesn’t get visibility and such.

Because this is the stupidest comment ever

Pay everyone a wage that they can live on, at the minimum.

To be clear, as well, I am in the information technology sector and make $150/hr (calculated from my salary). So if people want to bust their ass to learn skills, it still works out well.

Welders, plumbers, electricians, etc. can make way more than $20/hr

Again. Stupid boomer fucking comment.

Memmy is REALLY buggy since 0.4.0

Dude just stop and realize you’re being pretty rude

You’re not being constructive or helpful. You’re coming off very entitled and negative.

If you don’t like the app, make your own. Simple as that

If you don’t want to (or cant) make your own app, let developers make what they want

There’s plenty of Lemmy apps built in SwiftUI, you can use those. But as you admit, Lemmy is the best of the list, and it’s built on a non native app. Go figure.

MMO players blast "disgusting" $90 early access charge for WoW: The War Within - "We must say early and loudly that this is not okay"

I’m not defending it, or blizzard, and reading the title sounded yucky

But my quick understanding:

Expansion costs $50

Next level is $70 which comes with digital stuff, mounts, etc

Top tier expansion is $90, which comes with even more stuff

So a $40 difference from base or $20 from mid tier

It also comes with 30 days of game time, so that’s $15

Now we’re looking at $25 difference between base game. Or $5 difference between mid and top tier.

So it’s really like $5 for more digital stuff and early access, right?

It would have been better to just make two tiers. Charge $75 for everything including early access and don’t include game time. Cause subscribers are going to pay for that anyway. I guess because a month of access is hardly worth $15 operationally, it’s a nice way to up charge

I haven’t bought anything wow related in like 8 years. So I don’t have a horse in this fight. The title is just a little click bait (I don’t think anyone thought it’s $90 for only early access, and assume it’s part of a $90 game cost)
