IS there any way to block an instance entirely from the user level?
I, personally would like to block https://lemmynsfw.com/ from showing up in the communities feed. Anyone know if this can be done from the block list?
Just got a notice from my antivirus when I reloaded the lemmy.world Local Communities page, that I was protected by being blocked by something called derp.foo botnet.
Is the Communities page, infected?
***** update: a comment reply said that derp foo is a name of a lemmy instance, so i'm sort of positive this was a false positive for a community hosted there getting flagged. what an idiotic thing to name your web asset, as it must get flagged all the time.
It would be a shame if someone posted the article about David Zaslav that GQ magazine apparently pulled shortly after publication this morning
Even worse if it were an easy to save single image and could be re-shared
Twitter locking TweetDeck behind a paywall, forcing users to switch to the new design
with intent, by design, on purpose, Elon Musk is destroying twitter at the behest of the Saudis who couldn't buy the conversation, but found a patsy who wanted access to the Saudi Arabian markets for his rockets ships and electric cars, who could
Lemmy language options are both confusing, and don't do what they're intended to do
Granted, the warning says clearly "If you deselect Undetermined, you will not see most content", which places the onus on the individual user, as apposed to logic built into Lemmy on which posts/comments can be viewed, while also leaving it to each user to have to weed out alternate languages for their views which are incorrectly set. This is indeed leading to many posts simply not appearing (as designed and intended), which is less than ideal when trying to grow a user base/community.
