I'm absolutely looking to retire at the earliest possible time. I am looking to move to Europe for semi-retirement once we get a couple things paid off here. I have no interest in being one of those guys in my office who are 80, even 90!!, and still working.

Is gaming better as a kid or an adult?
It's a tough question to answer, since we can't go forward in time and game as a kid with the games we have now. And playing games now that we had when we were kids is different, since you already know all about them. I think I have to answer "as a kid," though.
As a kid, we had a sense of wonder about all the new things we were unlocking. But how much of that was just being a kid and how much was the still-evolving game industry finding new ways to be exciting? Playing games now feels insane to me, because I grew up being astonished by Galaga and Pac-Man. Comparing those to Elden Ring, which is graphically and difficulty-wise and story-wise light years ahead, just doesn't make sense. At the same time, I don't know that I could have gained much from playing Elden Ring as a kid. For one, I would have been destroyed by the first enemy and turned away crying... not that different as an adult if I'm honest. But I probably played as much Super Mario Bros as I did Elden Ring.
I'm lucky that I have time to game as an adult. Sure, it's only about 3 to 5 hours per week, but that's better than a lot of adults. Some weekends I'll get 10 or 15 hours to game. As a kid I could play for hours a day. I could have friends over most days after school to game with. They could spend the night on weekends to play late. I could borrow their games, and they could borrow mine, so I usually had a new game to try even if I didn't have my own money.

Yes, and I feel totally safe with that because nobody has figured out how to steal all the money from your phone-wallet just by walking by you with an NFC scanner, or figured out how to run viruses on your phone just by texting you an image, or figured out how to intercept and manipulate traffic from your phone, or figured out how to... I think you get the point. Anything electronic is easily manipulated.
If the low tech paper system is compromised, then the high tech system is even more easily compromised.

Prices for games have stayed constant for 35 years. Can you think of anything else that has stayed the same price in that time frame?

USA: Slate's New Electric Truck Will Cost Slightly More Than $24,950

I'm going to give the person you responded to the benefit of the doubt that they were talking about the electric Silverado and F-150, not this Slate truck. An even better comparison is the Ford Maverick Hybrid, which weighs 3856 pounds, so this is 250 pounds less than a comparably sized hybrid. The Maverick XL with gas engine is 3650 pounds, and this still beats that.

China is doing the same thing the US did for decades, which is giving out loans to developing countries to pay US/Chinese companies to build infrastructure that they may not fully need, and then using the spiraling debt repayment as leverage to exert pressure for those countries to give US/China favorable trade deals.
Yes, those countries get immediate benefits, but it is unclear whether the long-term results are positive or negative.

Military services again requiring recruits to get flu shots as Air Force outbreak grows
I wonder if there are any military history experts out there who can delve into the deeply hidden troves of information to decide whether controlling disease is important to a well-functioning military.

I really love my hybrid Maverick. It is still bigger than I want, but it works really well and averages about 40mpg. I can also fit it in a normal parking spot, which is nice.

No. Iran can't win it for two reasons. First is that they aren't as good as any of the top teams. They are a good team, don't get me wrong, but nowhere near even the top 20. The second is that FIFA is corrupt as fuck and wouldn't let Iran even sniff a semi-final match.

The funny thing is, I think this truck looks visibly closer to a tiny wiener than trucks that imply the driver has a tiny wiener.

It's honestly shocking to me looking back that we were able to afford new games back then. I saved up literal pennies to buy SMB3. The lady at Toys R Us was visibly pissed at me, and more pissed at my mom for letting me pay that way. We weren't rich, though we were slightly above the middle of middle class. But even my lower middle class friends could afford to buy video games back then.

Even with high efficiencies, you are going to have troubles with a level 1 charger. Level 2 charging is 5 times faster and still takes a long time to fill a battery. The most efficient consumer EV, the Kona, only charges at 6 miles per hour of level 1 charging. Yeah, you can get 80 miles of charge leaving your car charging overnight, but it completely limits any flexibility in using your car outside of commuting. I should know, I tried to do level 1 charging with a 90 mile range car for a couple months. It sucked, so I got a level 2 charger installed. After that, the 90mi range was fine for 3 years.

Thanks for this. I used to have one about 6 years ago and thought it was pretty good. I have been too lazy to buy a new since that one died, so it is good to hear I shouldn't look at them again.
