Because of this we have blind spots, one for each eye. They are not usually noticeable because 1) the blind spot of one eye can usually be seen by the other, and 2) the brain fills in the gap.
So with this I will perform a magic trick, I will make your thumb disappear: Close your left eye and with your right look at a spot in the background, make a thumbs up gesture and place the tip of your thumb on that spot, move your thumb to the the right continuing to look at the spot in the background, when your thumb moves about 15 cm your thumb should disappear.
You can use your left eye too, just switch the directions.

The 2nd biggest religion in each state (US)
Reply in thread
We don't really. The largest group is obviously Christian. The second largest group in every state is those with no religion, but they are ignored here. And the remaining 1-13 percent is split among a number of minority groups, meaning that the second largest religion in each state is only about <1-6 percent of the population.

The curse of Thoth
Θώθ has both upper case and lower case Greek characters, and a diacritic above the ω.
I suppose it would have been written ΘΩΘ.

World's largest lithium deposit, valued at $1.5 trillion, lies under a supervolcano in the U.S.

The volcano now is about 400 miles away, in Yellowstone, so there shouldn't be a problem with that. And no, the volcano did not move, the continent did.

Ah, so SHE was responsible for my low GPA!
What about Plato's Academy? It was an institution of higher learning, and it certainly existed long before the one in the meme. I'm not saying that the Academy was the first one either, it wouldn't surprise me if there were others before hand.
It seems to me like the claim "the oldest currently existing university" got converted to "the first university" and those are definitely not the same.

[Combat] Russian soldier uses an RPG exhaust nozzle as a buttstock.
Reply in thread
He used it wrong. He placed the back of the rpg launcher against his shoulder as if it were a buttstock of a rifle.
It is kind of hard to see, though, since a branch is in the way.

I don't think you understand correctly. The cephalopod eye and the fish eye (which includes tetrapods) evolved independently.

German is not the same as Germanic. Both German and English evolved from a common ancestor, which we call Proto-Germanic.
'Who' and 'Where' are '*hwaz' and '*hwar' in Proto-Germanic.
I would say that in this case German strayed more than English.

You won't be getting any money back. While you did ultimately pay since the companies that technically paid just raised their prices, that doesn't matter. You didn't technically pay any taxes, so you have no recourse to get it back. This has all just been a massive gift to companies.

I can try another way the blind spot is about 15 cm at arms length to the right of the right eyes center of vision. So put your thumb there and it should disappear
