Tech millionaire builds 99-unit tiny house neighborhood for homeless Canadians - rent is kept at 30% of income, the large majority of residents pay a maximum of $200 — including all utilities

Reply in thread

It's actually not as crazy being a tech millionaire nowadays since so many people build a great service and then just have it bought up by the competition.

It said right in the article Salesforce bought his product in 2011 and thats what made him a millionaire. Pretty good way to use that life changing money for the better of others and not just himself.

Fitting that DOGE went to war with the people working at the Insititute of Peace.

I swear this guy really thinks he's going to go down in history as the next Ghandi or something, his mind must be on a whole different level of dipshit.

Good News, Everyone!

Every April fools joke I encountered this year seemed to make me mad. Maybe I just feel now isn't a time to be joking, even though unfortunately it's likely the most important time for a laugh.

Problem is all the people making the jokes have a shit sense of humour.

Feel free to come join us in Canada. We still appreciate doctors and scientists here and would be happy to let you continue work on curing Parkinsons disease.

We'll add it to our list of achievements that we give out for free, like insulin. That's sure to please Trump and your health insurance companies.

Double-swiping the rewards card led to free gas for months — and a felony theft charge

Reply in thread

Seems to me like the reward was free gas.

If you've developed your system that the rewards card can provide a bypass to free fuel, your system is the flawed one and it isn't on the customer to provide feedback. This isn't a user testing scenario, they should have solved this bug before it went to production.

People aren't responsible for cheaply built solutions.

Canada election: Liberals will form next government, CBC News projects

Been interesting to watch the seats swinging, it's going to definitely be close all night.

I'm curious how Polievre will do in his own riding, he is against a liberal Bruce Fanjoy who has actually done pretty well for himself and the early voting was counted first in that riding which had Bruce up a few votes so it'll be a matter of time to see how it actually goes since the early vote was said to be largely Liberal supporters.

Edit: oh my god he did it, he lost his seat to Bruce.
