I didn't say not to enjoy music if the artists are idiots, just saying you naturally won't miss the music after finding out enough that's intolerable about the artist. Lucky for me I was a Megadeth fan and ignored Metallica over the Mustaine drama when I was a teenager, so when they went mask-off over Napster I locked in my opinion that they suck.

The politician is Avi Lewis, leader of the (federal) NDP, and it's a good call. Nuking the Bioware studio in Edmonton is a major blow to a blossoming industry in Alberta that has been building around their success for the last 30 years.

Alberta needs more than oil and gas, and helping when EA's decision threatens to ruin 30 years of game dev industry growth here overnight is how we ensure that can happen. There is undoubtedly people that Bioware attracted to computer science and software development attending the U of A, Grant MacEwen, and other tech schools in Edmonton today who were planning to, or hoping to stay here for their career. They're in class wondering WTF just happened and assuming they'll have to leave Alberta to follow the industry... Vancouver and Montreal are calling to them.

We should show them we give a fuck about what's been built here. That's a pipeline worth paying into, imho.

This is neat, thanks for posting. I was playing with btrbk a few weeks ago to take advantage of btrfs and set up incremental backups for my laptop to a storage server. The storage server only has xfs, but you can build btrfs subvolumes on top by creating a loop device with a few commands, no preallocated space required.

Anyway it was pretty satisfying to get going and has made me want to have more Fun with Subvolumes! Installing distros on subvolumes sounds like a good time to me!

When it's convenient to do so, they equate the vehicle to a giant gun the driver is pointing at them. That way they don't need to think at all and can pull trigger until scary thing stops.

I've done this as well, but Fennec doesn't seem to care at all, and still happily connects, even after cache clears and a reboot. Fennec also ignored the about:config change another commenter suggested. Makes no sense. It's pissing me off.

Very enlightening to see in a political thread who the repeat offender shit-disturbers are so you can down vote, argue with, or report them instead of blocking them and allowing their infection to spread.

Tagging is handy for nice people as well; the community of people around you on Lemmy starts to look more familiar, smaller, and friendlier than you realize, and dick heads become easier to spot.
