I think you’re onto something.

The modern day prophets are our comedians. Im thinking of people like Stephen Colbert and John Stewart, but there are many more people prepared to go out on a limb and say what needs to be said.

And then you have many churches (I won’t say all, because I know it’s not) who seem to clown around behind Trump and tell him what he wants to hear, and they bring their adoring fans with them.

All this is to say that we’ve turned our prophets into clowns and our comedians into prophets.

Aw, really? That shop was great.

The Reject Shop won’t be a loss.

If you watch carefully you’ll notice that Gimli picks up the axe belonging to the Dwarf sitting next to him.

You know the old saying, ‘Get a job doing the thing you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life!’?

That’s really bad advice. Get a job doing something you like, but not your passion. If you burn out on your passion, you’ve lost the thing that brings you joy.

My parents worked hard all their lives and have had very little to show for it. As much as I didn’t realise it at the time, I never really wanted for anything, but I’m sure my parents skipped meals on occasion.

Now they’re retired they have a bit of money from state pension and superannuation funds, as well as a bit my mum inherited from her parents. It’s still not a lot, but they’re able to live in the comparative luxury they always deserved.

A couple of year back they splurged and took a trip to the UK, which had been on their bucket lists since before I was born. They seemed to feel like they had to explain why they were spending the money, and I reassured them that it was their money, not mine.

My wife and I are in good, stable jobs and we don’t need their cash. Let them enjoy themselves while they still can.

All three were heroes.

What’s often missed is that Peter Norman, the white guy on podium, encouraged Carlos and Smith to take a stand, and he was the one who had the idea to wear a glove each, since they only had one pair.

Norman’s role in the protest led to him never being selected to represent Australia again, even though he was at the peak of a brilliant career in running. He qualified for the 1972 Olympics, yet was mysteriously not picked to go.

The three men remained close friends, Carlos and Smith were pallbearers at Norman’s funeral in 2006.

(I hate to be the one making the Black rights protest about the white guy. He paid dearly for his role, and I also hate to think he’s remembered as the third wheel on that podium.)

Except for the anti-Semites, who make up a decent chunk of his active base. Or are they also pro-Israel?

Can anyone explain to me how the Nazis and pro-Israel crowds seem to be so friendly at the moment? It’s almost like this has nothing to do with Israel.

The copyright issues could be interesting.

Trump keeps talking about annexing Canada though. Hitler didn’t need to invade Poland or any of the other nations he Blitzkrieged, but there it is.

He has fallen quiet about that though. I wonder if someone with an ounce of historical knowledge told him that if you’re going to fascist, don’t start wars at the same time.

The app isn’t exactly optimised for finding content. There’s a lot on there, but it always takes me a while to figure out which submenu gives me the goodies.

Trump isn’t president of the US though.

It’s rather ironic that the crew of a ship designed to map the ocean floor couldn’t tell where the seabed was.

Why? There aren’t too many undecided voters who will suddenly decide, ‘Hey, he’s definitely a criminal, so I might just give him my vote.’

And anyone who doesn’t think he’s guilty was already going to vote for him anyway.

We had Human Lego Man—a guy had a Lego Man costume and would just walk around waving at people.

We also have a roller blader with fairy wings who cruises up and down the Main Street, apparently flying. It was great when she had a baby, because she’d do the whole thing while pushing a pram.

Damn, she must have crumbled when Trump’s lawyers brought that up when cross-examining her. As far as the jury is concerned, that would be game over for the prosecution.

Trump’s lawyers did bring that up, didn’t they?

Out of interest, what was the life expectancy for someone living in the late Pleistocene?

You have to ask politely. At least say please.

Once you pay the Danegeld, you’ll never be rid of the Dane.

You can say goodbye to your gold though.

I’m fairly sure it’s not the voters they’re blaming. It’s the people who didn’t vote.
