hmmm

This is the “pro-Palestine group are anti-semetic” strawman argument played out in real life. To be anti-genocide/Pro-Palestine does not make one anti-Semitic; it is anti-Semitic to assume all Jewish people support the Israeli State apartheid and to conflate Zionism with Judaism.

But I’m just preaching to the choir here

What are some food items that cost less than what they "should"?

I would argue that of the three items you listed (bananas, coffee, chocolate) that the main reason those items are “cheap” is exploitation of the workers and economies of the global south.

https://daily.jstor.org/fruit-geopeelitics-americas-banana-republics/

This is just one popular science article on the topic, and it just brushes the surface of how colonial politics have stripped the global south of resources while simultaneously building capital in the global north.

This single pane comic is the jist of it.

how would you deal with a relative yelling to you you killed his father just because you're the last nurse who treated him?

I’m sorry you experienced that. That is horrible and should never be your problem as a nurse. Security should have been there for you.

You did nothing wrong. In fact, your body responded in the best way possible for your safety. Staying still is a stress response, and while it was horrible to endure, your body chose it because it was likely to keep you safe until your adrenaline dropped and you could think rationally again. Had you run, or fought, or tried to explain yourself the situation would have likely escalated.

I know in hindsight it feels like maybe if you had done “something else” or something different, things would have changed, but you have no control over that other person and it sounds like grief was taking the reins for them. It wasn’t about you, it was about losing their family member, and you were the quickest target for that aggression. There was nothing you could have done to change that outcome, and I think your body made the safest choice of also doing nothing.

Systematically, you shouldn’t have to endure that ever. Workplace harassment and violence is a big deal and healthcare workers deserve better.

As for me, I would have balled my eyes out and panicked and ran cause I can’t tolerate that level of stress, and it probably would have escalated or got violent.

What To Do When You Can't Find a Job?

Second the advice to remove your degree for low-paying work. I had some insight into hiring when I was young and saw a ton of well-educated people get their resumes tossed because the hiring manager assumed they would leave right away.

To these hiring managers: Educated people need to eat too, jackass.

I know how sex works and so does the majority of the world. So why do celebs need intimacy coordinators? I mean can't the guy wear a cup and the female wear a skin colored thong?

If you are referring to actors and intimacy coordinators, I think I have you covered.

Sex isn’t just a physical act, it is an emotional one. Acting is taking a script and adding believable emotion to physical actions while staying true to the scene and what the director wants. Sexual behavior can cause emotions to rise and bring out spontaneous or unpredictable actions and feelings, which can ruin scenes and traumatize actors.

Intimacy coordinators are present in the acting industry to help actors navigate the unexpected feelings that may arise and keep actors safe. The last thing you want to happen while filming a rape scene when actors are channeling really intense emotions is for real violence to happen. That is why intimacy coordinators are very very important beyond merely dressing actors to prevent sexual contact in sex scenes.

Bread mold

Penicillin is one of many types of bread mould.

I too will probably die from bread mould poisoning given my stingy habits with food waste. It’s fine if it’s only the white/blue type, right?
