What are the differences between these two? From a tech perspective, and also morality/ethics, if you want. Any differences in vision for these services?

Edit: I will leave this post here, which is a post by one of the devs of Lemmy that enumerates some of the things Lemmy 1.0 has. Lemmy 1.0 seems to be already in alpha stage and is already testable. First and foremost, before the usual argument happens, I know that more is not necessarily better.

Having said that, it would be better if lemmy's userbase were much bigger. There are many, many, interesting communities that are basically dead. We need a bigger userbase to drive some content to those communities.

If person A wants to discuss topic X, but there are barely any people with whom to discuss topic X, person A will go back to the usual for-profit corporations to do just that. This is obviously not good, for obvious reasons: just look around.

And an equally important point: for profit services, such as reddit, need to die. The userbase create the content and a select few get rich from it? Fuck them.

So the question is:

• In your opinion, what can we do to increase the userbase?

As you can see, the floating button is partially hidden. Scrolling does not fix the issue. Nor restarting the app.

EDIT: just found out that the issue only happens when viewing posts. If I open a post, the floating button is fully shown. That is, when viewing comments, the button is shown correctly.

What is a sub/community that you wish existed (actively) on Lemmy?

Maybe there are others like you and we can actually get it running, or maybe to already exists but you just don't know!

I currently use Swiftly Switch. It is an app that adds a small bar to the side of the device and by swiping that part, I am shown a list of apps of my choosing. This allows me to open apps much faster.
