That's more than mildly infuriating....

Pushing too hard does not explain name calling, sexual harassment, and other ways of taking advantage of power imbalances.
To me, the heavy workload is the least damning thing about it.

It's like a subscription based YouTube replacement. Like nebula or something. But mostly it's just LTT that has content there.

Just sounds to me like he's passionate about something. I guess he could be an ass, but to jump to that conclusion from just "you should train high milage" and then providing analysis is really a bit much.

It would be awesome if wefwef did this

I think even if nothing is intentionally done about it, it will get better. A dominant community will emerge, and other communities will evolve to have their own unique quirks. We're still in a kind of wild phase where every community is trying to find its place.
That said, some kind of multi community organ6would be a very welcome feature.

I signed up for lemmy.world because I don't want to write an essay. Shout out to the lazy people.
I'm here because I didn't know what I was doing when I signed up.

Lemmy is CEO-proof. After Digg, Reddit and Twitter, that term should be a thing

But there will be other instances. If this one does something stupid, then we go to another one and miss almost nothing.

Amazon is seeing some employees quit instead of moving to a new state as part of relocation mandate
Reply in thread
Forced relocation of more than 20 miles or so (some reasonable amount that doesn't require a move) should not allow a company to get out of severance. That should be illegal.

As has been asked every time, how many are bots?

Alien life rules
I mean, star trek has lots of intelligent life that isn't human at all. The default is human like, becuase it's easier to relate to that and becuase it's easier to make shows like that.

But then you just use another instance. As long as it stays decentralized, it will be robust. If one instance takes over, then it's no different.

A Reddit transcription community will shut down over a 'lack of trust' in the platform

I can't say how they stand, but it is clear that they won't and indeed can't with the current setup stop people from improving the situation. Reddit seems to be making it harder for people to make things accessible.

My thoughts exactly.
They are overtly sexual.... but not moreso than many other ads.

I can't speak for video, but for audio production that isn't true. Audio signals can be perfectly reproduced, up to some frequency determined by the sample rate and up to some noise floor determined by the bit depth, digitally. Set that frequency well beyond that of human hearings and set that noise floor beyond what tape can do or what other factors determine, and you get perfect reproduction.
