Obsession
Me rn with bikes. I just got into bikes and a couple days later I'm scouring through my county's website for trail maps, looking at what public transit is being funded, doing research on bikes, planning locations to bike to, and buying equipment.

If we all cycled like the Dutch, CO2 emissions would drop by 690 million tonnes
The problem with this is that while true, the solution for lower emissions will look different for every place.

Some servers can choose not to interact with other servers. For example a lot of the bigger instances on mastodon block the nasty far right servers.

Any other metal heads make it here yet?
So many great songs to choose from, so I dont really have a favorite. One great song I just listened to is called Suicide Machine by Death.

For everyone new to Lemmy, how are you finding the experience?
Having a lot of fun. I think the federation model works way better for reddit style websites as opposed to what we're trying to do with Mastodon.

Honestly I think it's a good thing. With wine we're reimplementing the win32 api, which means that we make things more portable. This brings games to more devices with less hassle, and I'm all for that.

Close to switching to a Linux distro full time.
You can always dual boot and use Linux for whatever you like it for. Sadly Windows is still the go to thing for gaming, since it's the target platform for 99.99% of software and especially games.

Let’s talk about media collections: How do you keep your library of your favorite movies and TV shows?
I don't really watch movies or TV Shows, but I'm really big into music. I try to download all of the music that I care about, and I listen to it through Jellyfin or Navidrome. I keep all of the files on my server in digital form, although I do own some records on vinyl.

Thoughts on introducing Lemmy
I think we need to do it like mastodon. A default instance for signups.

It's a mix between getting 320Kbps mp3s and FLACs from soulseek and buying from artist websites/bandcamp/qobuz/amazon.
When I was in highschool I also used to be on piratebay and a few other websites for my music so I have a lot from that time period too lol.
