Casual reminder
Yall need to learn some history.
The liberal SDP split with the communists, supporting "centrist" Hindenburg in the name of unity.
The communists campaigned on "A vote for Hindenburg is a vote for Hitler is a vote for war"
Hindenburg won the election, getting more votes than either the communist or fascist candidates.
Hindenburg, the liberal candidate, then proceeded to make Hitler the chancellor and staff positions of power with nazis while purging the government of communists.
The nazis then barely had to do anything to assert complete control.
The nazis didn't get in power because communists stayed home, they got into power because the liberals would rather work with fascists than communists.

Drug makers can’t make knockoff weight-loss drugs anymore—and they’re mad
It's weird that they call them knock-offs, they're the same drug, just made by a different company with a different name.
This is bad because it will increase prices for these drugs.

What other movies wouldn't work today?
You couldn't make Blazing Saddles these days. They'd take one look at the script and go ::: spoiler spoiler "We can't make this, this is Blazing Saddles, they made it 50 years ago. Do you want Mel Brooks to sue us?" :::

That was intentional, the klansman who built it didn't choose a place that was culturally significant to the indigenous people by accident.

Biden to block oil drilling across 625 million acres of U.S. waters
I am reminded of Obama banning coal plants from dumping their waste in rivers, 2 weeks before the end of his term, which was immediately reversed by Trump.

*Permanently Deleted*
This is no different than the other 5 times we've heard about Biden scolding or begging or setting red lines with Netanyahu behind closed doors, while continuing to send them weapons and protecting them from anyone trying to stop the genocide.
Supporting Israel is not just morally repugnant, it's a mistake.

Swinging left wouldn’t have worked either.
It absolutely would have. Progressive policy is insanely popular and easy to campaign on by virtue of being designed to help everyone. Do you think Bernie had such high favorably ratings because they have a thing for 80 year old white dudes?
Tell people "healthcare will be free" or "We will cap rent and build housing that won't cost more than 3x local median income" and then people can't afford not to vote for you.
Biden could have cut off arms to Israel, and hundreds of thousands of students so politically activated they're willing to risk their degrees to protest would be doing everything in their power to keep Trump out.
Instead they sent the police to kick the shit out of those kids, at great expense to the colleges, and called them antisemitic.

I'm glad you posted this, I've been making the same mistake for 3 years.
It's hell getting an appointment at a fertility clinic to prove to my boyfriend I'm not shooting blanks.

‘Huge win’: Brown University protesters reach an agreement to dismantle encampment
The university did not agree to drop charges against forty students for rule violations, but the charged students themselves voted to accept the agreement under the belief that the overall offer was worth their own sacrifices.
Not including amnesty as a prerequisite is wildly irresponsible. What leverage do they have now? The board can simply say "no", and send the cops in to arrest anyone who tries to restart the protest.
This isn't negotiating, this is the students unilaterally giving up everything in exchange for... The ability to ask again, but quietly and in a circumstances where there is no consequences for saying no?

OK, but if it did trigger a civil war, it'd be better to do that now than after they hold the government.

You're a new type of cyborg cop, that works for a new anti-terrorism unit to hunt down terrorists, formed after they bombed the twin towers. A global pandemic keeps the streets eerily quiet.
The game came out in 2000 btw.

He'd only be able to charge a handful of people, before everyone is sharing it for free.
When I tried Skyrim Online, vampires would charge extortionate amounts to share it. Furrys would happily let you join the pack for free.

Does anyone else also fly bombers and fighter jets over stadiums at the start of a game? Do you take 2-5 minutes to honor some guys in the military during half time?
