Australia bans Nazi salute, swastika, other hate symbols in public as antisemitism spikes

"No one in Australia will be allowed to glorify or profit from acts and symbols that celebrate the Nazis and their evil ideology," the press release said.

Glad to see someone mention the Profiting part.

I've always suspected a lot of this was due to grifters stoking these A-holes up to increase sales of the flags, shirts, hats, etc.

The Brandon thing was a big boon to the Maga grifters as it created more new things one needs to collect to show your true level of being a Patriot.

You could then change out your Trump flag curtains for the Brandon stuff. Some are brave enough to change them out for the Nazis stuff when the time is right too. It completes the set when combined with the Southern Surrender flags as your curtains or bath towel.

Joe Rogan Mistakenly Blasts Biden’s Mental Fitness Over Something Trump Actually Said

I seen a bit of this interview yesterday. The article doesn't cover it all. As soon as these 2 knuckleheads started spewing airports and it was Biden that said this I was confused as this was something Trump said a few years back. Didn't they know? They ride the media for skewing things and they weren't even aware of how Trump was called out in the same media for this some time back.

Below this fellow breaks down the double standard in more detail than the article does. It covers how Rogan and his Guest said no one should listen to Biden and how he is unfit for office due to this airport thing. Then when the producer points out to Rogan that Biden is referring to what Trump previously said, it wasn't a big deal all of a sudden to Rogan and the guest.

Trump gets a "whoopsie doodle" pass and Trump is still the better choice in his mind I'm sure. Not saying Biden is a gem of a rose but with how hard the right are trying to pin anything on Biden and failing, Trump is still a rotten to the core choice for endless reasons.

The wage theft crime wave strikes again

Reminds me of the false narrative that came out a couple of years ago about Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc closing numerous locations due to excessive and unprecedented theft from stores when in many cases it was a way to hide poorly performing stores due to mismanagement or bad locations from shareholders.

Boomer parents

It's still surprising to me that so few after 4 years of this still do not understand the airborne nature of respiratory illnesses especially Rona with all that has gone on.

Then again I might be expecting too much from people...

Google calls Drive data loss “fixed,” locks forum threads saying otherwise | Ars Technica

Google's customer service has become non-existent and unhuman. I would be leary of trusting their ability to sort out any issues in a fast or logical manner.

I say this as a paying customer of a few of their products. Despite this position with them I've been stiffed on Google Play gift cards in which there has been no human recourse within Google to deal with.

They just keep the money and there is no agency or person to investigate the 1000s of people with legitimate issues of redeeming the cards caught up in their AI flags. It's a nice way for Google to keep all of this money they have collected and never provide services for.

Slowly I've been removing their services from my life as I de-google where possible.

Polish Hackers Repaired Trains the Manufacturer Artificially Bricked. Now The Train Company Is Threatening Them

I wonder if they were taking notes from John Deere and the automotive industry or will it be the reverse here soon?

Just imagine all these vehicles that could be bricked for not going back to the stealerships for outrageous prices on parts and incompetent service.

Also the vehicles that could be disabled for not paying for device protection plan that allows your vehicle to operate safely. It would be a shame if your vehicle stopped working on your way to work or the hospital.

I suspect Tesla, BMW, and John Deere are the closest to this reality.

I sure hope the government doesn't help with another great cash for clunkers national program to get rid of more cars too old for these measures. Sure is a great way to drive new car sales though...

Beeper’s push for iMessage on Android is really over

I recall some pretty bold statements being made that Apple couldn't stop this reverse engineering from working ever in the early days of tech reporting on this.

Even as a Android user I thought this was pretty bold claims to make as this whole walled garden is a big part of the Apple brand and they will need to protect this as they really don't have leading software inovation and they are no longer ahead on tech advances or specs that made the first couple of iPhones ground breaking.

Since they are a couple to a few years behind the Android features and specs, they need to protect the special brand identity above all else so I expected them to tweak things to break anything they don't want to have happen to their systems.

I can't blame them at all from a business prospective. While I don't like or enjoy their products, they had built a great brand that sells itself for those that "want to be different" but actually the same as all of their friends.

I wish I had this password request when first trying out DOS commands on my first PC. I came across a book of Dos commands and was playing with FDISK. Wiped out the drive in the process. Learned Dos and windows pretty quickly after as it was a computer my mother in law gave us.

It went from Dos 5 with a shell to Dos 6.22 with Windows 3.11 once I went to the library and learned about them. Yes library, I'm that old.
