Speaker Johnson Explains Holdup In Releasing Jan 6 Tapes: ‘We Have To Blur Some Of The Faces’ To Protect Them From The DOJ

It is the exact textbook definition of obstruction of justice. It doesn't get any more obstruction of justice than to literally hide identities with the express stated goal of obstructing the work of the Department of Justice.

He's taking a page out of Trump’s "it's not a crime if you brag about it on tv" playbook.

Red line

members of the military directed pepper spray at the military police who came to detain the soldiers.

Holy shit! It's one thing when fascist politicians and their other brainwashed supporters resist justice, but when soldiers attack soldiers, "potential civil war" isn't even hyperbole anymore!

'There's almost nobody left': CEO of Baldur's Gate 3 dev Swen Vincke says the D&D team he initially worked with is gone, due to Hasbro layoffs

laying off 1,100 employees as a way to "modernize our organization and get even leaner

Yeah because that's what we want of the ones in charge of publishing, administering and providing support for some of the most played games in the world now and historically: leanness! The fewer people to take care of important things, the better! 🤦

I know that he's talking to investors rather than players, but come on! Also, there's nothing "modern" about stupidly trying to increase profits via mass layoffs without expecting blowback and for quality to suffer. That's some 1700s bullshit right there.

Why does “weird” work? Republicans love to appeal to a supposed silent majority. The new insult helps intervene.

It works because they're fascists.

One of the main pillars of every fascist movement is "we're the only normal ones". It's how they justify othering, persecuting, and abusing everyone who's not a cishet white fascist Christian, preferably male.

To a fascist, anyone who's not "normal" is one of the OTHERS and thus scary and evil and needs to be suppressed and hidden away, if not violently eradicated.

Bloody nose

Reminds me of the first time a friend of mine and his dad went to London. They were both more or less fluent, though his dad less so:

My friend's dad, trying to order an extra rare steak: "A bloody steak, please"

Waiter, without missing a beat: "Certainly, sir. Would you like some fucking potatoes with that?"
