As far as I know, Fairphone is still Dutch for instance and the factory are in Europe too. But sure, at the end of the day components are still Chinese. Not much you can do about that.

GOG needs to fix their client first and port it on Linux. Yes, Heroic is a thing but we do need better handheld compatibility anyway and Linux users, I think, are more likely to be invested in GOG mission.

And despite implementing EAC they intentionally made the game just not work on Linux. That killed any interest I had, I'm not surprised about the horrible port in the slightest

This makes a lot of sense actually. It'd be awesome to have more options for head units. I'm not sure about the target though, amateurs working on their car or restoring old models? I don't see a lot of companies choosing a Linux based head unit for their cars. But the same argument could be said for Linux phones too.

I fail to see the point. The company sells laptops with Ubuntu preinstalled not phones which are the targets of such apps. Linux phones are still in their infancy and for Android we do have excellent apps like Mapy pulling their data from OSM. What am I missing?

I'm finally playing Crysis. For a 2007 game it's really good looking. The shooting is less frantic and a lot more tactical than I thought it would be though. Great experience so far.

While I fully agree and support Codeberg stance on vibecoded projects I'm not sure I follow their reasoning here. For instance they complain about webcrawlers scraping their site to train their LLM models but I don't see why getting rid of the vibecoded repositories wouldn't make them more palatable for scrapers. A site full of human made code is infinitely more useful to those companies than a slop infested honeypot.

Despite loving Neuromancer and a lot of cyberpunk literature I couldn't really get into Snow Crash. It's too ironic and over the top for my taste. I did love Anathem though, it's probably one of my favorite books! Would you say I'd enjoy Diamond Age?

Control is an amazing game, I recently replayed it before finally starting Alan Wake 2 (it's so damn good!) and while perhaps a bit too easy the story is imho one of the best in the medium.

A friend of mine is restoring an old muscle car and I bet he'd love something like this as well. It's a niche but we Linux enthusiasts can be quite passionate so I do think the audience is out there for sure.
