CEO Asks ChatGPT How to Void $250 Million Contract, Ignores His Lawyers, Loses Terribly in Court
You never go full ChatGPT.
I mean, if this is the way the average CEO is handling ChatGPT, a lot of things start to make sense.

All devs should be doing something like this. From what you are describing, you are basically dealing with cylon accounts waiting to get activated.

Ex-Pussy Riot member Rita Flores says she was FSB informant for nearly 3 years before escaping Russia
Reply in thread
The article details the several ways she sabotaged their information gathering attempts and how she eventually had to leave after she was told to get involved in an assassination attempt. Meanwhile, you are a TIE fighter pilot for the empire as far as I can tell.
She didn't offer herself up to "be a rat", she was threatened and detained over and over again while they tried to butter her up, acting like she was helping them was the most immediate way to stop the harassment until she eventually left on her own. She could just have as easily complied, become rich, and had no one know about her complicity.
More tankies and tankie tactics should be outed this way.

US, EU move toward landmark biometric data sharing deal that give the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) access to fingerprint and other biometric records held by EU member states
Reply in thread
The only thing that makes the EU bureaucracy seem like it's functional are competing national interests. When all nations are being targeted by foreign automated propaganda through their social networks to promote shifts in their governments to allow this sort of bull, it doesn't even matter that the US is directly issuing threats against the EU, only just what corrupt long time career politicians can get out of it.

Time for Europe to Use the Nuclear Option: Attack US Patent and Copyright Monopolies
AI is ignoring so many IP laws while the US government continues to push and collude with its cartels, all the while making sure the technology bubble is all AI and is all US centered. The EU certainly needs to do something, but I imagine many in the EU don't want to put their own IP at risk.

The water wars have started, and it's not between countries, it's between neighborhoods and data centers.
It's about the cheaper method of cooling, there's no need for them to have to waste water if they recycled it correctly. It's really a war about the latest hot investment getting all the socialist policies from the government versus people being milked through do-or-die capitalism by a government that only does the bare minimum to fulfill their obligations to them.

You will not be missed
The data set and the algorithm are still there, it's just not available to the public anymore. I wonder who will still get access to it. This just seems to follow the general trend of oligarchs encouraging startups to do anything and everything to disrupt an industry, go as far as they can, and then pull them out through any pressure, government or corporate, as they try to scavenge what they want.
Besides that, there's still alternatives alive, local or otherwise, and I doubt the people who were using Sora are suddenly going to stop without trying to search for alternatives first. People are celebrating after just chopping off the first head of the hydra.

Pete Hegseth appoints Elon Musk to US taskforce on future of warfare
They need to purge the military before they overturn the midterms just to address the possibility of US forces suddenly deciding not to follow illegal orders enough to detain Trump when given them. The US isn't a shitshow anymore, it's in a free fall that will drag a lot of the world with it.

Trump working on deal to buy potash from Belarus for lower price than Canada
So suddenly, trade is not a zero sum game when it involves dealing with dictators. There's so many red flags right with US Russian involvement now that if I were Zelensky, I would not be attending the US for any peace talks. This is a lifeline for Russia and proxies.

PlayStation Wants To Prove In Court That You Don't Own Your Digital Games

Sadly, catchy slogans don't hold up in court. Better to buy from distributors who don't try to make that claim, like GOG - even if they won't put Nine Sols on the store to avoid offending many gamers.

Crocsarella
There's basically two sorts of people: the one's willing to overlook the aesthetics and the one's who aren't. There's a reason hospital staff wear them. They are not designed to look good, they are designed to let the humidity from your sweat evaporate instead of letting it accumulate into a damp breeding ground ripe for a host of foot conditions. For some people it will matter more than others.
There's plenty of Crocs designs that don't look ugly, but I hope they continue to be unpopular as that keeps them cheap. It's risky to switch to other brands with this sort of design, Crocs got it right.

Germany has a shortage of workers - so it's turning to India for help
It could also turn to other places in Europe for them. But that's the thing, isn't it, this isn't really about a shortage of workers, it's about not wanting to pay them more.

Sony Shuts Down Nearly Its Entire Memory Card Business Due to SSD Shortage

You are talking about going against a cartel of oligopolies that have locked down the technology sector with the IP they control and who have cutthroat control over where the latest technology is deployed. What we at home can do is playact "It's back to the 90s!" and go back to the technology we had several decades ago, which is more viable than it sounds.
If they want to act like cartels with the greatest and latest, nothing is forcing people to use it. Unfortunately, the technological divide will still be there. Tech minimalism, go human, recycle old tech, we have a lot of crap we've disposed off over the years that would otherwise still run fine. To create competition, there needs to be the breeding grounds for it, and if that means having to do with what the lunar lander did, then do so and exercise that brain in the process too.

The Ghost Gun Crackdown Is Quietly Threatening the Future of 3D Printing
It's basically at the thought-crime level of threatening, although a bit more real. More importantly, it's an excuse industries that are threatened can lock on to so they don't have to worry about low cost alternatives. A metal rod and some gunpowder = ghoster gun.
