You know they are at historic lows of incompetence when they just keep recycling the same ghouls into different positions. I'm honestly shocked we still haven't nuked the planet into ash by now.

According to the West, there are no legitimate targets on our side. Any and all attacks on Western military targets are considered terrorism.

It is is beyond ridiculous. People allegedly attacking a US Airbase in the UK (maybe just stealing diesel) are called terrorists for attacking a military target. It is absolutely bonkers.

Yeah I don’t think that bullshit is flying as well as it used to though. It’s too obvious who is instigating, and more people have been paying closer attention and learning about the history of the Middle East and the foreign policy of western governments. I’m encountering it more and more from people whom I would not expect it, and I get around.

Overheard a conversation between an old, rural Swedish farmer and his son that used to be a NATO soldier. They were discussing the Iran war. Old man says Iran has the right to defend itself just as any attacked nation does, and besides, they're defending against an empire that is one tweet away from attacking us. NATO boy tried to say something about nuclear weapons, but old man wouldn't have any of it and shut it down immediately.

I was quite astonished to bear witness to this, honestly.

I don't know how nobody has told them to get the F out yet.

3

When orgs fighting fascism are regarded as terrorism then the word has clearly lost its original meaning.

2

I would move to Iran myself if they blew this fucker out of the sky on one of his douchebag jaunts across the ocean.

7

give him his chainsaw and send him to the middle east

You know what? Good. I'm glad that Elon is now a valid military target.

Well, is not like he's got anything else to do. Being the ceo of 5 (?) companies obviously doesn't take much of his time.

28

From what I've heard, they probably do better the less time he focuses on them.

25
lemmy.ml

Yeah, because the last time Muskrat was on a govt committee, it went so well...

105

Still.haven't finished with the fallout from that disaster.

Really expensive self driving tanks that can also be submarines but parts fall off when they hit a bump.

76

I'm convinced that his truck thing was supposed to be the next Humvee. That man loves the government teat.

14

SpaceXai's biggest client! Future of warfare needs golden dome $1T+ contract to spaceX, obviously. Another $2T for Grok built skynet is recommended.

Oh cool. Let's watch Elon completely fail on a large scale again like he did with his DOGE bs.

12

He only failed if the publicly stated purpose was the goal 🤷‍♂️

6

Ketamine fueled weapons of the future coming in hot. The military is going to start looking like the stupid drawings of tanks I did in 2nd grade.

Ketamine and HRT drug fueled soldiers taking orders from hallucinating AI, to kill kids, for Israel.

24

hes going to finally make his own epstein island that even epstein denied him invitation.

4

It already does. This all news available to governments around the world. Governments who have better intel than we do.

1

He walks into the Pentagon on day 1 carrying a sink and then spends the first month figuring out how to get the tanks to make fart noises when they fire missiles

7

Grok now screening all mid-term ballots for evidence of Hamas

4

They need to purge the military before they overturn the midterms just to address the possibility of US forces suddenly deciding not to follow illegal orders enough to detain Trump when given them. The US isn't a shitshow anymore, it's in a free fall that will drag a lot of the world with it.

39

Packing the group with loyalists may quiet dissent, but as we've seen, loyalty does not relate to competency. So they're more free to do whatever they want, but at least they're real bad at doing it.

12

Oh no please don't put the most trained and capable logistics/communication/warfare experts out of a job all at once.

Shits gonna backfire.

13

This. The Oregon National Guard commander response back when people were putting vids of the Floyd riots in front of Trump and telling him that was now. The reality of Portland the last year was rather lol. If anything, a master class in how to protest peacefully

I can’t imaging the man in charge of the Oregon National Guard won accolades from MAGA. In fact, I’d be surprised if he was still there.

My point is, this has already been stress tested, so I believe you’re spot on. Prep to make what’s left loyal to the regime, not We The People and The Constitution.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world watches, sees what our military is like now and knows we are vulnerable. Not that Musk and company running this shitshow care about that piece, they have private security and bunkers.

4

I like how Musk magically joins the government every time there is an election that Trump needs to cheat on. Then leaves like 4-6 months after the election is over. Probably just trying to make sure he doesn't get arrested by Democrats for all the illegal shit he is doing

29

They will mount him into the head of a rocket, fire him into Iran, and he will them potently bankrupt the country with stupid ideas like vacuum train tunnels.

4

Sure! Why not! Let's hire the nazi! American people...only you can save yourselves now.

Here we go with the implementation of fully automated, AI fueled warfare as a blueprint to be used for internal affairs. I wish i weren't able to say it, but I told y'all this would happen.

Arolareply
sh.itjust.works

It's more simple than that - like doge, this will be an extraction of public money, and maybe the transfer of more data from government / publicly funded storage to Musk's CSAM generating facility.

8

Its about money too, but it's even more about transforming the military into something that does not pose a threat to the executive branch, which is worth a lot more cash.

1

Honestly, the greatest weakness of the military right now is ground troops. If you want people to be willing to die, you have to give them a cause to fight for, and discounted college tuition is not going to do it.

That's why the US' military is built around high tech and low casualties, because, after Vietnam, they realized Americans aren't willing to bleed for Empire, and that's why Ansarullah are cleaning up against Saudi Arabia, because nobody wants to die for a corrupt monarchy.

The solution to this problem is AI murderdogs.

1

I got as far as the first paragraph before noping out of that article - right about here...

Musk will be joined by Palmer Luckey...

16

Let me guess, the warfare of the future demands lots of Tesla power walls and a heavy reliance on starlink...

13

People in this thread are really underestimating the value of the ketamine perspective. How exactly would YOU going to protect us from the lurkers in the shadows?

6

Oh look, I guess Neuralink isn't out of primate test subjects after all!

The Trump administration has been pretty shit at militarism so far, I consider that a good thing when it comes to fascists. Hopefully this continues the trend.

6

Yeah, but being shitty at it did result in 123 children being turned into red paste. And some fisherman being gibbed. And some service members becoming suicidal.

7

Kinda reminds me of Space King and his psycho warriors, just going around and murdering everyone and hating women.

It's a YT parody of Warhammer 40K for all of you non nerds.

Lol, Americas fucked, what does elon of all people know about warfare or military anything.

AI almost caused the American army to attack a Chinese ship that they though was shipping nuclear development machines, it wasn't but if they hadn't found out the AI thry used for the intelegence analysis made an few hours later, they might have engaged with china under false pretences.

5

insofar as the military exists to siphon public funds into oligarch hands (which is basically all the DoD exists to do, when it not being used being used to kill brown people), musk is kind of an expert

4

This is the part where Ted Faro pivots from "saving the world" to war machines?

3
palaver.p3x.de

Yes. About time to gut the US armed forces as well. And surely have yet another shit show with Trump. /s

4

putin is sure happy this is happening hes been trying forever to get us forces out of places where russia would be.

2

The only thing getting gutted here is anything that has to do with ethics. LLMs do not second guess illegal commands or refuse to fulfill them, LLMs do not have qualms killing civvies, LLMs in general do not have issues with atrocities (or might even strategically deploy them), LLMs are never whistleblowers. The next Abu Ghraib will have noone leaking photos.

The 20% of generals they want to cut are those in positions that could prevent this future from happening.

2055 - the US expeditionary force has been bogged down in the desert for 120 days with no resupply or recharge in sight. Tank commanders report they can do nothing to stop the enemy’s harrying hit-and-fade attacks in their Hilux technicals as the targeting systems pro subscription has expired and cannot be renewed due to connectivity issues.
