Some departments in the US government give you a paid time off day every week to use however you want. A lot of people would take every Friday off, or some would stash them for a longer vacation.

Seems to me they're using the sanctity of indigenous people as a way to protect the rain forest. Wish it being a very important natural part of our planet was enough to protect it, no appeal to human to human empathy needed.

Stronger governance and they could've appointed one of their own before Trump.
