Where to get hot trendy ideas?

Reply in thread

Hate to block people but I hate assholes who feel insulted by some memes because they ridicule what they really think quite well even more. There’s a place for being a pretentious dumbass but the comment section just isn’t it.

I'm working as a sysadmin for a local government institution and as part of my job, I need to manage the hardware for a local elementary school. I was wondering about the possibilities of a safer Youtube environment for kids as well.

We tried the native YoutubeKids but it's way too strict with its filters and was deemed not usable for educational purposes. So we just let the kids use Youtube in its normal way and ask the teachers to monitor their video watching behaviour. So far, no other alternatives have come up for us.

Sorry if that doesn't help you exactly but I just wanted to let you know that we're in the exact same boat.

Anyone else?

Oh man. It took me two hours in the character creation screen and one of those two hours was spent deciding on what custom character I was going to play.

Haven’t looked up anything on BG3 and made myself forget that it released in EA a couple of years ago. So far, I’m just utterly amazed by it. Probably going to spend way too much time, that I don’t have, on it. Worth the wait so far.

Subway sign in Georgia references Titan implosion, sparks controversy: 'Messed up'

And now the fucking efforts that are put into investigating what happened.

What a giant waste of money and human ressources just for some rich pricks who were well aware of what could happen to them. The talks about a law suit against that company etc. Absolutely ridiculous.

Why anyone would complain about that grade-a joke of that subway chain is beyond me.

We do not have Google Workspace set up yet. I guess we could go through the process of setting that up but that would require a qualified person to oversee the ongoing process of approving videos. We had to get iPads for all classes and every child therein but those are managed by a MDM-System called "ninja" which doesn't give us a proper way to manage third-party accounts. That's a whole other set of issues though which would complicate the issue even further.

The teachers at the elementary schools where we operate aren't exactly what you would call "tech-savvy". I once had to drive to a school just to restart the laptop one teacher used to prepare cheat sheets with. That specific teacher couldn't follow my instructions over the phone to hold the power button for 15 seconds. It's absolutely mind-boggling how incompetent our local school system is when it comes to "the new tech".

I will try that out though. Thank you!
