Equality and freedom have to find a balance. I don’t do to others what I don’t want for myself. Even if that is limiting my ‘freedom’.

I’m using photoprism. It closest to Synology photos. I use nextcloud to automatically upload the pictures but photoprism to view and share them.

This is a really shitty thing they did. Especially if you have been there so long.

Came from Reddit following advice from my dad. He knows nothing of Reddit but follows movements in society. I told him about Reddit and how they treated some developers. He knew about it trough a colleague and asked me if I knew about Lemmy.

I find it criminal that we don't do more. The idea that this will impact our economy is so short-sighted. If we don't do something now, it will be too late for our grand kinds. We can do a lot as a species (look at how fast the vaccines were developed, how much solidarity there was) but the politicians and big corporations are slowing everything down.

You are probably right but we can try to build something here. It will take a lot of time but the mobile apps are coming and those will help cement the userbase. I’m still using Reddit to find information but not posting there anymore. We have control over what we do even if it has little effect.
