r/belgium reopened yesterday and I made a post inviting people over to our community here. It turned out to be a lot more controversial than I expected but I hope we can build our own community, not as rivals but as (distant) friends.
I am on the /r/Belgium discord and things are a bit complicated there right now. Don't think all the mods are on the same line but yes everyone is welcome here and they can of course keep doing their thing 🙂

We created the Discord while the sub was shut, at that point the following people joined:
WC_EEND
CappuChibi
Myself
Since then we have demodded ourselves on Reddit but are still Discord mods. Historicus (historicusxiii on Reddit) is on there now too and is still a Reddit mod. Since this weekend Psy is also a Reddit mod.
I made different roles to reflect the differences, Discord mods and Reddit mods. I assume as the subreddit (or this place) gets more traction the Discord will be used less and less.
Well whatever happens happy to have you here too! It's funny I saw sensiburner on your discord who's an old friend of mine from back when I hosted breakz.be - drumnbass site but now defunct. The discord is quite populated so I don't think it's going to go dead soon
Creating posts isn't easy at the moment, not sure if it's the instance or if it's connect. Ubuntu 18 errors make me suspect the first.
Probably the instance. I opened an account on a smaller one to get a better experience

I just went through the thread, it went better than I expected. Anyway, people who will come with time, the experience on Reddit is just getting worse and worse.
I hope I didn't disappoint with my replies 😅 I tried to be friendly and not engage too much with the more hostile comments.

Slow at work. It will only get slower. Gonna be doing some studying at work. I try to be pro active 😇
July is starting out nicely, had some days off and there's no work waiting for me now that I'm back. There's not a lot of traffic either and I expect it'll be a lot less busy with questions and projects as well.
Finally time to update documentation and evaluate procedures.
Haven't slept a wink because of nerves. But today I'm taking drawing classes (lol), hopefully that'll distract me a bit.
So, Werchter '23 is over. This was the first edition I was planning to not go. Didn't regret it it, too few of the old gang managed to get there. So now I'm officially old :-)
It's my week off, but I'll be very busy the coming days, so my activity will drop off a bit. Really looking forward to the week though; both my own plans as how this little community will grow in the mean time! It feels nice to be part of an effort to built a new online space.
