Ich denke da an die Kategorie, die nicht in der Lage ist, eine Adresse einzugeben, sondern, um auf eine Webseite zu kommen, den Namen in die Adresszeile eintippt und sich darauf verlässt, dass Google ein Ergebnis ausspuckt:

"Geh mal auf Hamburg.de/Behoerdenfinder"

tippt Hamburg in die Adresszeile ein, sieht zig Suchergebnisse, die Hälfte davon gar nicht auf die Seite der Stadt Hamburg verweisend, guckt mich fragend an

Diese Kategorie User*in würde auch Reddit in die Adresszeile eintippen, hoffnungsvoll auf das erste Suchergebnis klicken und freudig eine vorbefüllte Seite vorfinden.

Wenn Du denen dann kommst mit "Okay, es gibt ne Alternative, die heißt Lemmy, aber um auf Deine Memes zu kommen, musst Du eigentlich nach Feddit suchen" dann Gute Nacht Marie...

Über dieses Phänomen "Innenstädte sind nicht für Menschen konzipiert sondern für Konsum" hatte Böhmermann kürzlich eine gute Folge.

That's exactly the problem with many open source projects.

I recently experienced this first hand when submitting some pull requests to Jerboa and following the devs: As long as there is no money funding the project the devs are trying to support the project in their free time which means little to no time for quality control. Mistakes happen... most of them are uncritical but as long as there's little to no time and expertise to audit code meaningfully and systematically, there will be bugs and these bugs may be critical and security relevant.

Lol that's a wild one. Compared to Reddit Lemmy has a completely negligible userbase and is (at this point) no competition at all. Why would Reddit waste any resources on this?

At the moment blurring is kinda buggy:

It uses a Jetpack Compose function that is only available for Android 12 of newer. On older phones it just gets ignored.

I wrote a fix for older phones that has to be approved by Dessalines.

I'm probably as new as you are but as far as I understand the ALL page correctly, it doesn't necessarily show ALL existing posts on all nodes in all communities but "only" all posts in communities that federate to your node.

Since different nodes have different federation policies, you will see a slightly (?) different ALL page.

Maybe someone who has more experience can elaborate on this topic.

You can use the search button in the bottom navigation bar to search for communities but as far as I know it's still pretty bare bones.

Proper search for keywords isn't implemented yet, but this is a well known issue and addressed on GitHub.

Das ist auch ohne die Clan-Thematik eine gute Idee. Polizei hat schon seit Ewigkeiten ein Problem mit Racial Profiling. Mehr Polizist:innen mit Migrationshintergrund könnten da vielleicht den Blick drauf schärfen und in jeder Situation wo Polizei z.B. eine nicht-biodeutsche Jugendgruppe "anspricht" (Kontrolle, Lärm, wasweißich), sind Polizist:innen mit Migrationshintergrund wahrscheinlich deutlich deeskalierender als Kartoffeln.
