I believe that this Pull Request is trying to add this feature: https://github.com/dessalines/jerboa/pull/514
Hopefully it gets merged and then released, it would be nice to have this feature (that's how RIF behaved before)

It's not my personal patch - I'm just watching it. If it misses a release because the author doesn't respond I'll try and put some time into writing my own implementation.
At the moment blurring is kinda buggy:
It uses a Jetpack Compose function that is only available for Android 12 of newer. On older phones it just gets ignored.
I wrote a fix for older phones that has to be approved by Dessalines.
We also need stronger blur. Currently you can almost make out what the entire preview is. Can't scroll the feed like that if you're out somewhere.
Update your jerboa. It was fixed in the latest update.
Do you mean the alpha build on GitHub?
Version 0.0.34 on F-Droid from the IzzyOnDroid Repo (which is the official repo) is the latest.
Wait how did you get it to blur, mine just show unblurred already which means I have to change settings in public to hide all
Based on another recent comment you may be running a too old version of android.
You can find the option to unblur in the settings
Please tell me where because I cannot find it. I see the show NSFW option and it is ticked but, everything is blurred

Some instances have the option, but not all.
